Do you suck at drifting? Do you have the sensibility of Tim “The Toolman” Taylor but still want those shiny three stars for your bag without long training? Help is near.
Disclaimer: This is no drifting tutorial as it all happens in AWD, but it will get you those three stars.
Let’s get started
The tool is the Ariel Nomad with maxed racing upgrades (more power! RRR!) but offroad springs and tires. No tuning needed. You can apply body kits al gusto. You don’t need to change the tires for tarmac, they behave “bad” enough. Don’t forget to turn off stability and traction control in the difficulty settings.
First off, the most important hint (thanks to Mr Raided for mentioning it somewhere on a sidenote!):
Do the drift work in Private Online Freeroam(under the Social tab once you unlocked it). You don’t have all the Drivatar traffic then and you can do all the challenges right away!
The idea behind the AWD is you do a fast powerslide through a curve. You approach fast, do a late e-break and power your way out. When you land it perfectly you do it in one long move. If you start to get grip you can tap the e-break to get on the loose side again. Aslong you stay with an axle on the lane and move sideways you’ll get your points. With wet streets it’s much easier as you need less entrance speed. On long straights just do a bit e-break power work.
The advantage of AWD: you don’t need much sensibility with the gas pedal nor special tuning for your car. Just find the right speed to enter, e-break and pedal to the metal!
The disadvantage: The cool kids look down on you and consider you as a royal d-bag. Who cares, you got those shiny stars? Right?
Give it a try, it’s not too hard.
