Just turned on my One and started up FM6, was then prompted to update the game for a little over 200 MB. Anyone know what for?

Ford GT GTLM free car. But it seems a bit odd because its just one car. they might have hidden something for E3. We wont know until E3.

I expect the 2017 GT appearing at Le Mans on the 50th anniversary of their 1966 win might have something to do with it.
Still whe must race against 12 chevy nascars in free play r class? Even if whe don’t purchased the nascar expansion.
You can set division to Modern GT and NASCAR cars shouldn’t be in it I think.

Mine somehow got all confused today, said “we’re just getting your game ready” and then decided it wanted a 4GB update. I was hopeful there was more going on, but I think it just had a senior moment. Still, a free car to come is all good :).
If it was for the free Ford GTLM then why can’t we access or find it in the game.
Yes, the other topic says there will be codes sent to everyone that’s playing it to download it. So if that’s the case then it doesn’t make sense that the update was for the car. And if it was for the car then it wouldn’t make sense for them to have to send a code out to everyone to access it…

This is normal. It has been the case for the last few years.
DLC for Forza games differ from other games in that even if I do not buy dlc it would be good if when player x is using a dlc car that I can see what it is. Therefore everyone gets the update.
To own the dlc you need to download a license which is where the code fits in.
Now obviously this one is different in that every player will get it. But I assume they just need to use the existing structure to achieve that outcome.
This happens every month. It’s not unusual. Prior to updates for cars you won’t their models listed in the photo mode search or multiplayer Model fields. In cases of new manufacturers you’ll also see the badge added. That’s what the update does. In the case of a car pack, you can then see the models listed in the game, but you would need a DLC code in order to access it. This GTLM code is just like other promotional cars (Pizza Hut Mustang, Pringles Mazda, etc) that will only show up in the Buy Car menu if you’ve redeemed the code. The difference in this case is that every player gets the code, not just a portion of the community.

Was this from another FM game or did you just let something slip?
The Pizza Hut Mustang was a promotional DLC car in Forza Horizon. Just making the point that this DLC method has been around a while.

i didn’t have an update when I played earlier today, but I did have a code waiting for me for the gt lm, so I downloaded it.
