hi all,
right in forza 5 i had no trouble tuning cars with all assists off but now in horizon 2 i find my first and 2nd gears and even sometimes 3rd in just spins the cars out of control can anyone help me out plz with tips how to stop this.
What is your torque to weight ratio? HP to weight ratio? Are you using race compound? How Wide are your tires? Do you have any kind of roll cage? Cold tire pressure of drive tire?
I keep it simple, but effective. I put a race transmission in every car and set the final drive to fall exactly on the second from the last vertical grid bar. Not perfect, but it works reasonably well on every car. If I spend too much time tuning, I’m not racing. If I’m not racing, I’m not happy.
Do you mean spin when accelerating in a striaght line or when cornering?
Same approach as used in FM5 should work.
Also throttle control by the user is important.
If you answer the first question you can get specific advice.
If the wheels spin from launch or in a straight line, it may not be a gearing issue but a differential issue.
yeah it wheelspins from launch intill 3rd gear and im not one of these ppl that just slams the throttle in. and wen setting the final drive i try and get the best 0-100 time then just tweek a little
Try looking at your differential setting. Move that into something a little more usable and then try looking at your gearing again.
In response to #7 below - I assumed you left the diff stock. I also use a pretty low setting on RWD cars normally.
If you are doing all you can as the driver and you are still losing traction then the 0-60 time is not being achieved so one option is lengthening the early gears.
Other things I would look at:
- Are you building in too much power and not enough grip?
- If in a really old car roll cage might be worth a try.
- Soften rear springs
- Wide rear three
- Don’t use flywheels
- Experiment with ride height changes.
- I would normally NOT look to the diff to fix this but on rwd cars i generally use lower accel diff than most people. Also if you are on uneven ground the diff may come into play.
- Try different camber levels on rear but make sure you test launch plus cornering with new settings.
Another option is for you to show your build and tune here for one of your cars or ask one of us to help and then pm us the tune and we will try and help.
One more thing, try reducing the Rear Anti Roll Bar Setting.
