I hate to post this topic, because I am sure it has been asked and answered in this forum already. But, I have exhausted my search. So here goes…
Where can I see which tracks and variants I have race in multiplayer?
I would like to complete the World Traveler achievement. I am currently 41% complete with the achievement, but do not know which tracks I have driven, and which ones I need.
I intend to find someone who will help me with this achievement in a private lobby. But, instead of starting from scratch, I would like to be able to complete only those tracks I need, so as not to waste anyone’s time.
I know what you are thinking. I should have had the foresight to maintain a list of tracks I completed when I started the game. I didn’t, so here I am.
I could not figure out a way to tell, so I just made a list and checked them off as I did them (even though I know I had done about the same % as you have at this point). I was doing full races, do it took a good week (both week ends included) to finish most of the races. I got down to about 5 and was able to find someone to help with those. (I can about guarantee you don’t have the Airport track. That one never, ever came up as an option. The other ones I was missing would come up as an choice, but never got enough votes). Racing in either multiplayer or Leagues both count.
When you get down to a reasonable number, I will be glad to help you finish.
Okay. Here is an update in my pursuit of identifying the tracks I have already completed in multiplayer races.
Last night I opened up Single Player Free Play mode. Here, I am able to look at every track and each track’s configuration. For each track and configuration, including day, night, rain, I was able to view the “Leaderboards” to see which tracks I posted a time.
By using this method, it shows that I have raced on 37 out the 122 tracks/configurations, which accounts for 30% of the achievement. According to the XBOX app, I have completed 41% of this achievement, which equates to 50 tracks.
Something doesn’t add up. I double checked a couple of tracks that I know I raced in multiplayer, and 3 out of 4 didn’t have a time registered for me. One that wasn’t recorded was a 23 lap night rave at Daytona I did with a friend in a private lobby.
Does my method make sense to you guys? Do only races completed in multiplayer make it on the Leaderboards, or do offline/single player races done in Free Play make it too?
That is enlightening information Talby, makes sense with why I don’t see 10% of my races on the leaderboards. I do use Friction Assist when I can,
As far as the Campaign and Multiplayer leaderboards statement goes, I do believe you, but that sucks. That means I have now way to know which tracks I have completed already.
Friction assist does invalidate your lap times but whether or not it affects progress towards the World Traveler achievement remains to be seen. I don’t think it would, but I can’t say for certain.
As you may be able yo tell, I don’t play multiplayer much. As a matter of fact, I only play multiplayer if/when I need to complete an achievement, or if someone else needs help with an online achievement. Why you ask? There are 3 reasons:
I don’t have the skill level to compete;
I don’t have a good internet connection;
And most importantly, I don’t have the patience to deal with all the intentional ramming and smack-talking that occurs during online racing in Forza.
In response to Talby’s question: “Just curious why you would even use friction assist”. The main reason I started using Friction Assist was to be able to quickly recover after getting knocked off the track by rogue Drivatars or online drivers. I know that Friction Assist does slow you down by a second or two, but leaderboard times and winning online races aren’t a priority. I would just like to have a good race when I do play online. I do like running laps in Rivals, but with my skill level, I am rarely competitive.
“For that achievement i printed out a list of tracks and cross each track off as i race on it on multiplayer or leagues”. I started doing the same thing a couple of days ago.
“Friction assist does invalidate your lap times but whether or not it affects progress towards the World Traveler achievement remains to be seen”. I proved last night that Friction Assist has no negative impact on the World Traveler achievement. I ran a race with Friction Assist on, and my completion percentage increased afterward.
Just a bit of a caution. Be very sure you check off the correct track each time. And why do I say this? I got to the end, and had all of the tracks check off, only to be sitting at 99%. I ended up making a new list and starting over (again). I finally got my missing one around the 40th track I redid.
If you have a way to do them in order (and I believe one of the league events this week is presenting the tracks in order), it is a little easier to keep track. When you are doing them randomly (ie via multiplayer or league) it is easy to check the wrong variation as you complete one track and are quickly entered into another one.
btw, my offer still stands to help you finish as you get closer. Some of the frustration using the random method is, the further along you get, the harder it is to get tracks you are missing. It seems that the tracks you will be missing are the ones others don’t like to race at, so they don’t get the votes.
Thanks Doug. I appreciate the word of caution. I have been using a 2 step approach. First, I highlight the track prior to the race, and the second step is to put an “X” in the “Complete” column after I complete the race. If I disconnected, I know the race won’t count. This way I have to have both steps complete before I know I’m good for that track
I found myself in that situation last night. I forgot to mark off the track at the beginning of a race at Maple Valley. After the race, I didn’t know which track variant it was, so I left it blank (undone). It sucks, but at least I know that track won’t come back and bite me later.
Thanks again for the offer. I will be more than happy to take you up on your offer, when I get close to the end.
Find a friend who also wants to get this done.
Start from the left side of the track list (Bathurst). Yas Marina will be last.
Do 1 lap of each track variant, working from left to right.
Be methodical and you’ll get it done without chasing your tail.
After all your help and advice, I was able to complete this achievement with HXT 71. Prior to teaming with him, I thought I had an accurate list. It turns out that one of the tracks that I marked off as complete, did not register. Fortunately, HXT 71 needed this same achievement, and a few others, so we went back through the tracks that he didn’t have, and discovered the second to the last track was the one I needed.
I’m not sure if all tracks in the game actually appear in the hoppers, but I do believe you can create a private lobby with friends to race on all tracks.
I don’t know if all the tracks show up in hoppers either. If they did, it would take several (5-6) months and some very good luck to get them that way.
We created a private lobby. That way, the players have total control with choosing the tracks they need.
