I mean, in fairness, I can see why they decided to take more time after the release of 7 in 2017. FM7 wasn’t a huge leap over 6, and I think most people understood and were on board with them taking longer to rethink the direction of the game and come back with something truly impressive if not revolutionary.
What we ultimately received is certainly not what most of us had in mind.
Yeah, it’d be fair to take more time in exchange for delivering better.
It seems quite unfair to take more time in exchange for delivering worse.
Longer wait plus worse quality = worst of both worlds.
…which is why it feels so back-handed when they say “wE aPpReCiAtE yOuR pAtIeNcE.”
They’ve also done yeoman’s work in bringing in older race cars and track layouts, like classic F1 and IndyCars. Compare that with this game, where the only “historic” layout is Laguna Seca’s shortcut through a parking lot and the same three vintage F1 cars that we’ve seen since Motorsport 5, when they were introduced to coincide with the movie Rush.
Seriously, this game feels like the Star Citizen of racing games, except it’s not been even remotely as profitable.
I’m struggling to find family-friendly words and ways to describe just how bad console players have it lately. I keep recommending a PS5 and Gran Turismo 7 because, to be perfectly blunt, that is the best option for anyone who just wants to pick up and go, yet even that has it’s faults.
That’s what’s funny about Microsoft’s recent announcements to take some Xbox-exclusive titles to other platforms - as if PlayStation players would choose this over Gran Turismo.
Horizon would definitely make a mint on Playstation; for one thing, it would be filling a niche that Sony doesn’t really have covered in the open-world racer - closest thing they have is Need for Speed (that’s not great).
Motorsport? Absolutely not. That would be the kind of beatdown that would get people fired for even suggesting it. My First Gran Turismo would wipe the floor with Motorsport 2023, never mind GT7 proper.
As a racing game enthusiast and a Brazilian, I already have Automobilista 2! The game truly feels like a tribute to both Brazilian and global motorsport history, featuring iconic racing series and incredible Brazilian tracks like Interlagos, Curitiba, Goiânia, and many more.
The latest update with the IMSA content was simply fantastic, adding even more depth and variety to the game. I really hope Forza Motorsport follows this path and eventually includes Interlagos, which was the most requested track by the community, along with at least the main Brazilian racing series like Stock Car and Copa Truck.
The Brazilian Sprint Cars are no longer active, having evolved into what is now NASCAR Brasil. However, in the game, they’re still an incredibly fun category to drive
As much as I would love to see them add multiple tracks from say Brazil or Australia, I just dont think T10 has the budget, resources or the time to make that happen. The best we would probably get is Interlagos and thats it. Im also confident Bathurst is the only Australian track we will be getting in this game. Theres the tracks they still want to bring back from previous games and then the highly requested ones that they will carefully handpick and with them adding a rate of 6 tracks a year its just hard to imagine another 20-30 tracks added to this game. Maybe 10 more tops…
They added 8 the first year, Bathurst is first of year 2, id assume the number will be similiar. Theres 5 missing real world tracks from fm7 which are Monza, Long Beach, Sonoma, Cota and the Bugatti circuit at le mans. I think they will all return except maybe the Bugatti circuit even though that should be the easiest to add.
Since they are all relatively new to forza they have the data and since they only reshade them and not rescan them these seem to be obvious choices. So that leaves 2-3 spots, i personally think theyll add Interlagos and/or Portimao as theyve both been mentioned by name by turn 10 at certain points this past year. I think we’re likely to see some returning fantasy tracks to finish it up.
I think those options would likely be, Prague, Rio and Dubai as the backgrounds are relatively modern. Bernese Alps’ background was pretty dated and would require work and the one id really want to see which is Camino Viejo would likely also be too much work and probably wont be returning.
I really do hope they’re going to improve the atmosphere of the game. I was on the American Tour in career and it so so under whelming I was bored. The engines are way too quiet, no cockpit ambience and the overall feeling was boring. I could not wait for the race to end.
The ability to change cockpit position is needed along with an audio boost of the whole game as it is too quiet. I am having to turn up my AV receiver a lot higher compared to other games just to get the feeling of louder immersion but you can hear how bad the audio is in terms of volume. More cockpit movement and rumble is needed.
Turn 10 is a first-party studio under Microsoft, one of the wealthiest tech giants globally, with billions in annual revenue. Comparing them to smaller studios like Reiza (Automobilista 2) or even iRacing, it’s clear that Turn 10 has far greater financial and technical resources at their disposal. These smaller developers have managed to license, scan, and implement tracks from Brazil and other regions without the same financial backing.
If Turn 10 isn’t adding more tracks from Brazil or other regions, it’s not because of a lack of budget or resources—it’s a matter of prioritization and how they choose to allocate their efforts within their development roadmap.
That will happen lol. They ask about tons of tracks they know they will never add. So far not one track has been added that we haven’t had before so I don’t know why they keep asking for our opinion on all this stuff. Just teasing. . I would love Interlagos if one new track were to be added but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

A fairly clear pattern there. Seems unlikely to me that they will return to a track per month now. I’d expect we will see Monza, Sonoma, COTA in 2025 and maybe one other track before the 2 year anniversary, so 5 “new” tracks in Year 2.
Its 100% because of budget. About 90% of the assets in this game are from fm7, while also not having all of fm7s content. The cars, the tracks, the tuning, the painting, the photomode, the menus for the most part are all carryovers.
Just because theyre owned by microsoft doesnt mean their budget is unlimited. Forza Motorsport isnt a sales juggernaut. The highest selling motorsport was fm3, that was over a decade ago. That means every game after that has sold less and definitely cost more to make.
The fact that this game was given more than double the development time versus other installments and is merely a refreshed version of fm7 with even less content shows budget was a major factor. The amount of bugs and other deficiencies show even with all the extra time corners had to be cut to hit the already delayed release window.
If this game sold better we’d undoubtedly see a lot more investment in actual new content, but it hasnt. I believe we’ll see one more new real world track as thats likely already been decided and being worked on, but i wouldn’t expect anything more than seeing the rest of the old rracks coming back.
I personally think the original plan was to release every other month, but they had to release things early due to the game underperforming. For instance, Nordschleife was released a few months “early”, thats not the type of track that gets finished faster.m it was always going to be done around that time. They had some tracks finished already and merely released them sooner.
I think sunset peninsula wasnt originally planned, but was something that could be done relatively quickly. So i think we’ll still get the normal cadence of every other month which would be 6 tracks. But i still think we’ll see at least one returning fantasy track, they need to at least try to be on par with fm7 when it comes to track count.
Most people who complain about GT7 are just salty the game isn’t GT4 and went in a different direction. GT4 was classic career mode with endless single player challenges, which old players like, but they’re a vocal minority. Kaz has said in interviews his goal was to make the game accessible to attract new players and, most importantly, new car lovers, as, in his opinion, young people aren’t as much into cars as before. His reasoning is also why My First Gran Turismo was made.
The biggest issue with GT7 is not the game itself but how slow Polyphony is with updates. There are things in the game which are blatant game design faults and easy to fix, but it’s not easy to communicate with PD and, in the event they do find out about the issues, they take a long time to fix them. This is in contrast with other SIE studios like Guerilla Games.
Still, I do believe Gran Turismo has a far brighter future than Forza Motorsport, because I trust PD more than I ever trusted T10, and I also think GT7 is in a better position right now than FM. I used to dismiss Gran Turismo when I was an Xbox fan, but, when I decided to buy a PlayStation and drove a car in GT Sport, it was like feeling at home in a racing game. I liked the graphics and the handling, and I also liked how it felt like an interactive car magazine as much as a video game.
