What upgrades are most affective?

Perhaps my title may not be descriptive enough for my real question I have for the Forza Community.

My question to you all, is how do you know what tires and how much brake upgrade, and transmission upgrade is really needed to fit in class d, c, b, a etc…

For instance, im messing around with a 2005 M3 in B Class, but how wide do i really need my back tires if im putting out close to 390 hp…how much of suspension upgrades will i truly need to swift through turns that im faced in b-class races…is there a benchmark that i’m missing?

Although my question is very broad, but i do seek good explainations. (I like the details)

If there is a guide like this already out if you could direct me in that way, if not and people who like to pitch in creating this guide that may be affective for other drivers out there, i am more than ready to take this task in creating a benchmark for what a car needs in b class, a class and so forth.

Cheers!

You’re looking to the answer to answer all question ?:stuck_out_tongue:

Lets take your answer “how wide as to be my rear tire if I have 390hp”
There is many other question coming with it:

Car weight.
Suspension setup
Driver abilities
Tire type
Assist you’re running
Type of race
Tracks
Powerband
Transmission ratio

There really isn’t a proper answer to your questions. Reason being that certain upgrades aren’t deemed as necessary as other depending on what you’re trying to do. If you want a car for Old LeMans, then lots of power, no aero, and the skinniest tires you can manage to hang on to. But if you want a car for Laguna Seca, then good handling, race tires if you can afford the PI, and decent acceleration.

The whole things needs to be looked at as a “system” if you will. Each track requires a slightly different “system” to acheive the best lap time. In general you’ll want race suspension on every car so you can have the adjustability that comes with it.

You question about tire width is not one that has a definite answer. Horsepower doesn’t dictate tire size. You would obviously want the wider tires, but what if that bumps you up out of the class you’re wanting to build for? So you have to sacrifice a certain part to remain in your class. I have a B Class GT86. One tune has wider tires and less horsepower, while the other has narrower tires and more horsepower. Why? The build with wider tires was a handling focused tune while the build with narrower tires focused more on acceleration and speed. The sacrifice in tire width was to keep the car in B class.

So… There is no true “answer” to your question. You have to try out the different parts to see what gives your car the best feel for you. It’s part of the greatness of Forza. You can build the same car in many different ways to achieve different results.

Really good answer here. Add that with what track you intend the car for and you’re on your way.
