Audi’s 2.5 TFSI EA855 engine is a true wonder amongst modern engines, as it’s one of if not the very last 5 cylinder engine still available in new cars, with the EA855 Evo variant found in the latest Audi RS3 Performance pumping out 400hp. I think it’s a perfect fit for an engine swap for most VWAG cars, as many of their hot hatches only feature the 1.6 Turbo Rally engine swap. In fact, the only car in Horizon 5 to feature an inline 5 engine swap is the 2021 VW Golf R Mk7, which has an 2.5 I5 Turbo engine swap option coming from the Donkervoort D8 GTO (double checked).
Cars like the Volkswagen Golf Mk3, the Volkswagen Scirocco R, the Audi TT S or the Volkswagen Caddy Pickup would greatly benefit from having a new engine swap option, as it is something completely different than both the 1.6 Turbo Rally and 3.0 I6 Racing engine swaps, which we have had enough of.
Be good if they include the VR5 too as with the short length and sharing the same head (unlike all other V formation engines) so could be swapped into pretty much anything as it can be mounted both longitudinally and transversely because it is shorter than an inline engine. Also sounds great too
