Let me introduce you to the hottest version of Mk3 Polo. The relatively short living (available only between 2000 and 2002) sporting version called GTI.

Powered by naturally aspirated 16 valve 1.6 engine, this was VW’s idea of introducing the concept of angry supermini to the new millennium. When it was new, it was the hottest and most powerful Polo (sure, nowadays it has already been surpassed). But it is still enjoyable car with heaps of horsepower (it packs full 125 PS under its tiny hood).

And to give you a full idea about how mighty it was, I will say it has kerb weight of no more than just 984 kg.
