Virtual Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo | Livery Contest | $25 Xbox Live Gift Card

Race liveries wanted… We’re looking for Forza’s most talented painters!

NOTE: In order to participate, you must be available at 6:00 pm EST on Saturday, May 28th.

WHAT IS IT?

The VLBST Team are hosting a livery contest for the #63 Lamborghini Squadra Corse Huracan Super Trofeo unicorn car. The top 24 livery entries (if we exceed 24 entries) will be selected by the Team, and the best of those 24 will be declared the contest winner. A $25 Xbox Live gift card will be awarded to the creator of the winning livery.

Liveries will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Liveries must follow the VLBST livery guidelines, which are identical to the 2016 LBST Sponsor Placement guidelines, with a few exceptions (see below).
  • Liveries need to be race-focused (No drift, artistic, or illustrative designs please).
  • Liveries can not include text that is not a sponsor.
  • Glossy, semigloss, and matte finishes are welcome, along with special colors. (But keep it realistic and tasteful)
  • Replicas and originals are both allowed; please be sure that your replicas are of Huracan ST’s or have a similar style (GT/endurance).

WHY?

VLBST is in need of promotional material featuring a full grid of custom-liveried Huracans for Season 2. You’ll get:

  • A chance to win a $25 Xbox Live gift card!
  • A sneak preview of the VLBST Season 2 race calendar!
  • A chance for your livery to be featured on our official website and social media pages! | Facebook | Instagram |

HOW DO I ENTER?

Step 1: Download the official VLBST required series decals from the Storefront. Just search “VLBST Contest” in the description field, and download the files. Included are the official VLBST numbers, 0-9. Download these as well, and place whichever numbers (000-999) you like on the number plates.

You’ll notice that there are 3 different color variations to choose from. Each color represents a class (AM, PRO-AM, and PRO); feel free to choose whichever of the three classes/colors you like. Each class decal set (5 total files; one layer group for each side of the car) is available with Black or White text color. Be sure to choose the color that contrasts most with your base paint.

Step 2: Install the layer groups on your car. Reference the pictures below for proper placement (Shown in AM class colors with White text). NOTE: The sponsor layer groups are pre-sized; do not scale or rotate them. The numbers that go on the number plates are not pre-sized, and will need to be scaled and rotated to +/- 4 degrees on the left and right sides of the car.

Step 3: Once your livery is completed (and the required series decals have been installed), take up to 3 photos of your livery and post them in this thread, or email them to vlbstseries@gmail.com.

WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?

The deadline for contest submissions is Friday, May 27th at 11:59 pm EST. This gives you about two weeks to create your livery.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M SELECTED?

If your livery is selected, you will be notified via Xbox Live messenger. The complete list of Gamertags of the selected painters will be published here. On Saturday, May 28th at 6:00 pm EST, the 24 selected painters will join us in private Forza Motorsport 6 lobbies, and we will race 1 lap around each of the circuits that will be featured on the VLBST Season 2 race calendar. That’s right; you’ll have early access, as the official Season 2 calendar has not yet been unveiled to the public.

Once the group has completed a clean lap on each of the tracks, we will save the replays and use them for photos and videos that will be used in official VLBST promotional material. The VLBST Team will then announce the winner of the $25 Xbox Live gift card, and the prize will be sent to the winner via the method of their choosing.

We are excited to see what the community comes up with for livery designs! If you have any questions or need help installing your layer groups, leave a message on this thread or send a private message via Facebook or Instagram, and we will do our best to assist you.

Happy painting, and good luck!

Bump

Nice write-up for the contest, its detailed in logo placement and requirements!
Only thing is what are you looking for in the design?!

Are you wanting designs painted to then be entered into the series?
or
Livery that screams VLBST and promotes the site and the series?

Ditto on AB’s questions.

Excellent question (It was incredibly late for me when I posted this); I’ll update the original post right after this reply.

To answer your question, we are looking for race-inspired original liveries that would be realistic to find on a Huracan Super Trofeo. See the Super Trofeo website for some examples. Replicas of your favorite Huracan ST are encouraged, as a sizable portion of our Instagram following is composed of drivers and teams from the North American and European Super Trofeo series’, and free exposure for them is always appreciated.

While we aren’t going to prohibit the promotion of VLBST in the liveries, we would prefer that VLBST-specific content be kept to a minimum, as 1) We have no trademarked logo to use for branding purposes, and 2) We really want the focus to be on having a field full of realistic, feasible, and aesthetically pleasing race cars.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way for painters to let VLBST competitors enter their livery into competition, as each VLBST entrant must install the required series decals onto their car. If you were to share your livery design, they would be unable to add them, and you wouldn’t be able to share your livery without them, because your base paint would be locked and prevent them from adding them. You COULD share your base paint in 5 different layer groups (one for each side of the car) similarly to what we’ve done with the required series decals, but it’s time consuming and you would have to count on them lining everything up perfectly.

The obvious answer is to register for competition, since your livery will be fully-legal and ready for action.

I’m not 100% sure I understand what you’re trying to say. The contest is for single painters to design a race livery for the Huracan Super Trofeo using the official 2016 LBST Sponsor Requirements.

VLBST follows the exact same sponsor guidelines as the real LBST, and these required series decals are the only part of the contest that is not entrant-created.

You are essentially designing a car for a Super Trofeo race team.

Pretty Much. Download decals and make a pretty car how ever you want

Plenty of time left to paint/submit.
