Venice Italy EventLab

Venice, Italy is a city NOT known for auto racing.

Until now.

Take advantage of a pedestrian-free opportunity to explore the City of Venice (or at least a reasonable facsimile of it) in a way never before possible - with speed! Better yet, this race has been perfectly timed to coincide with a significant low-tide event. You won’t need a boat. However, a set of good off-road tires is certainly in order.

This ad-free event trailer is under 2 minutes.

A few minor tips:

  1. I recommend using a vehicle with an ‘A’ Class or lower due to the limited sight lines and a few tight turns. I debated limiting the car class in the event, but ultimately decided to leave that up to players and their own experience level. If you can pull it off at warp speed, more power to you.

  2. Avoid plunging into the first canal. You’re at the edge of the map there. There are a few low walls thoughtfully positioned based on my poor driving mishaps. But you’re on your own after that. There will be safer opportunities to get wet later in the race.

  3. Enjoy the scenery, but don’t get too distracted. Many of the city’s cafe owners and street vendors failed to heed the warning about this impending race. If you do find yourself plowing through a sea of chairs, just be aware that you were already off course before you ended up in that situation.

Have fun!

UPDATE
If racing cars through Venice wasn’t absurd enough, try it in a big truck. This event uses the same route with a different set of rules. Rules only apply when you use a difficulty of “AVERAGE” or better. Your HUD tracks wreckage skills and assigned wreckage points. A basic wreckage skill gets you 100 points. Each successive skill category has double the previous skill category’s value. There are more smashables along the route to help you rack up points. But don’t fall behind. Points don’t impact the final race results.

The spectacle of this variation merited its own video, something more in line with the unique spirit of the event. I call it an event trailer, but it’s closer to being a music video. I’m embarrassed to admit I spent over 100,000 credits on shoes and dresses for the backup dancers.
HonoredArcher62, dude, where are your priorities?
