Just did my first Featured Multiplayer race in the ABCS Multi-Class lobby and I’m disappointed.
The event is time-based (16 minutes) with distance travelled as the scoring system.
Nothing wrong there in theory, however the game continues to use the outdated method of determining results.
When the clock hits 0:00.000, the race ends immediately, instead of allowing drivers to complete their current lap.
This breaks any sort of immersion one could have when racing, and also opens up some last-moment exploits, such as cars no-braking corners to get ahead at the last second.
Based on this, I won’t be doing any more Multi-Class Featured Multiplayer races in future, nor will I host any in my Club.
I would much prefer (if an authentic race finish cannot be implemented) that these races be lap based instead (Medium length is equivalent to 16 minutes), with an appropriate roll-off delay per Group to ensure all finish relatively close to one another.
