As of August 22-2024, 3 achievements (Cashing In, Perfectionist, Encore?) in FH4 became unobtainable. Can’t they just get removed as having them around could deny the insentive to keep playing the game for some players, as well as not even giving a chance of obtaining the 100% achievement completion for those who bought the game after that date. I do understand that it may not be possible since xbox assigns points to each achievement you earn, but I don’t see why it can’t be done on platforms such as Steam where that system doesn’t exist.
Alternatively, previous Festival Playlists could be put in some sort of rotation that would allow the achievements to be obtainable, or making them be tied to backstage passes in some way.

Simple solution: allow everyone to access old Playlists and freely complete any and all events they have, just add an asterisk that some completion was done after Aug 22nd 2024.

I agree, something needs to be done. As a completionist, I am losing motivation to play FH4 knowing I won’t be able to get it to 100% without cheating (which I do not want to do). Removing those 3 achievements from Steam would be great, or making them accessible in another way. Removing them seems to be the right way forward though as it would be easier to do and it just makes sense as what’s the point in having an achievement linked to a feature not in the game?

Removing them doesn’t seem fair to those players who worked to get them while they were still available. Does not being able to get three measly achievements really impact your enjoyment of the game all that much? Achievements can be fun to chase, but at the end of the day I think you should play a game because you enjoy playing it.

If you cannot enjoy a game without 100% achievements you’ve completely lost control over your gaming life, especially as they are more part of the platform (Steam, Xbox etc.) than they are part of the core game.

I’m still playing and enjoying my time with the game. At no point did I say that a game can’t be enjoyed without the ability to obtain all achievements. Hell, some games don’t even have achievements at all. I only mentioned having an incentive to play more, since striving to get them all can extend the playtime and fun for many people.
Sure, it’d be somewhat unfair for those who have earned them, but isn’t it equally unfair for those who purchased the game after August 22-2024 who never got the chance to even get them?
Their removal was simply one of a few suggestions (btw, very interesting how this threat swapped from being in a suggestion hub to a regular discussion.) that could solve the issue at hand. Access to old Playlists would be neat. If the cars you get for completing them are the real issue the devs don’t want to make them replayable or have them be put in some sort of rotation, why not just have those cars be swapped for wheel spins or currency?
Having the ability to earn all achievements would hurt nobody. Disagreeing with that is akin to defending FOMO (fear of missing out), which I hope we can all agree is not fun nor positive for players as a whole.
When you buy the game 6 YEARS after release, that’s the chance you take.
For 100%ers? Absolutely. And the fix is very simple
This sentiment is very against game preservation as a whole.

I can’t help but to see it as “You should’ve bought the game sooner” argument. While I can agree with it in some cases, I can’t exactly agree with it here because the devs are still around. Usually unobtainable achievements are there because there’s no devs to actually fix them, or dead multiplayer, which isn’t the case with this game. Online features will be available even after delisting. Who knows, maybe in another 6 years I’ll be able to agree.
Then maybe those people should get a healthy dose of perspective. I like getting 100% achievements when I can too, but there are multiple games I own with achievements that no longer work, and I’m not losing any sleep over them. I just complete what I can.
And I mean, the end-of-life news for this game was pretty heavily publicized across the general gaming press. It made very clear that there were only two series left with which to complete the Playlist-completed achievements. If someone missed all of the news, then they certainly have my sympathies, and at the end of the day I do agree that there should still be some way to complete them. However, there’s still a huge amount of gameplay here beyond those few achievements.
Usually it’s more difficult to fix unobtainable achievement in other games, I think. In FH4 you still have featured championships and Forzathon events which rotate weekly, and now that I think of it - they should still work like the playlist towards this achievement!
The reason they don’t is because these scattered events aren’t part of any cohesive playlist anymore. There also aren’t any more seasonal rewards for playlist completion percentage.
They work the exact same way so it would make sense to make them work towards that achievement

But they don’t, because there isn’t an actual Playlist screen that tracks your percentage completion across a season. That’s what originally unlocked those achievements.
