Tune stealers can be noticed in lobby races

Wanted to add that you can actually see if someone has stolen your tune or not in the right circumstances. I was doing spotlight races and i only have 3 tune variants shared. 640 for rivals, 644 for “lvl 1 tune” people who just jumping into spotlight, then a 700 build. I’ve seen a few people with different numbers in lobbies and it said they had my build on. I assumed it was a visual error. But this last race there was someone who had a 672 variant. His name was VRT Marzus86. I waited until the race was over to see if the tune was downloadable. Sure enough it was. It was the 644 Lvl 1 Tune that I had shared. So assuming they stole it, unlocked it then saved it as their own and have just been upgrading it as they level up. Is that specific incident a big deal? No, because there was very little to tune for that car at lvl 1. Is it interesting to know that if people do steal your tunes, your name will still show up as it being your tune in the lobbies? Absolutely :100:. Unfortunately It’ll be hard to know if its stolen if your tune is at the top of the PI Index, it will just look like they are using yours. But regardless, it still shows everyone so I think that’s a nifty find. Might start making tunes 1 PI shy and sharing them soley for that purpose for now, so if you see the car at max with your name on it, you’ll know they stole it  Or turn10 could fix it, that’d be amazing.

Have you tried to do this with an account that isn’t the original GT used to create the tune?
Maybe you are able to edit it because it is the GT you used to create it.
I would check on that as well.

So if someone “steals” your tune. They unlock it and can modify it and resave it. It still gets saved under your name. Do you get the credit for the tune share?

Thats a really good question  no idea how you’d be able to check that though.

Send a clip to forza support submitting a Ticket so they can investigate it’s Not right to steal others work

Remove tuning, its cheating and unfair.

Appologies if ive misunderstood, but i thought you could use somebody elses tune in lobbys?
Ive downloaded other peoples tunes for some of my cars, have i got this totally arse about face.lol

It looks like he’s saying they didn’t just use his tune, but rather they were using his tune that had a PI of 644 which they had stolen and modified to a PI of 672.

I have found a lot of tunes that i would love to use as a base and just tweak a bit, but cant. I wish i knew how to tune, but i dont, so it would be super helpful. I now wish i knew how to unlock them so I could do this instead of downloading and testing every tune yo find one i can atleast deal with. What are people losing out on that they are so buttsore about this?

Because the tuners take their time to make these and help others. Some of those maybe don’t care if they get “stolen” but others take pride in making those tunes for people who don’t know how to and don’t want to learn or don’t have the time.

What would someone who doesn’t know how to tune do if no one uploads tunes? Learn or drive in stock cars. If that person doesn’t have the time or understanding to learn then that person would be forced to drive stock.

So basically, pride? OP even states he is still getting credit for the tune. Where is the crime in me finding a tune I like and then adjusting the ARB to my liking? Its not like i can take their tune and then sell it…they are free anyway and shouldnt be locked to begin with. If you dont want people using them…dont share them.

+1, If the game wants any type of competitiveness and fair races they should remove the option of tuning… at least on open lobbies.

The difference a tuning car makes compared to stock its abysmal, not fair at all…
and I say this knowing how to tune cars, in the new vintage spec I can make the cars 3-4 seconds faster… even better than the stock Jaguar D-Type
