The 2nd gen Tacoma debuted in 2004 as a 2005 model year. What is known about this Tacoma is that it has a rare Performance edition called the X-Runner, as Toyota’s response to compete against the 2003 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning.
It has a supercharged 4.0L V6 producing 300HP, literally the same engine from FJ Cruiser and 4Runner, but with a Supercharger installed specifically for this pickup. And it’s offered in 6-speed Manual only. Perfect for sport enthusiasts who like to drive manual sticks like a PRO. It is only RWD.
For a 2WD sports pickup, I hope there should be a good opportunity to have it added soon. A previous gen Tacoma will be good as the late TRD Pro was added a year ago.
Cant believe this isnt available still. Truck is a pure enthusiasts vehicle . 6 Speed RWD was also available with supercharger from factory. Comes on a race chassis with stabilizer bars and bilstein tuned sport suspension. Double wish bone independent front suspension and rear drum brakes
