is there ANY difference in the base cars between the lexus and toyota versions in game? is the toyota one going to at least be the V8 model or is it even the same straight 6 spec? like does the soarer offer literally anything over the SC we already had?
Yea I really want to know why one of the earlier models wasn’t chosen.
Iirc the Pre-facelift model was the most requested by a decent margin in the polls.
I can only assume this is preparation for FH6 and they’re planning on either cutting the SC300 or just adapting this new Soarer 3D model for that too since it’s from the Xbox 360 era.
There may have also been some licensing issues but why there would be some with an earlier model in particular I’m not sure, wouldn’t make too much sense to me.
The new 3D model seems to be the main reason why they included it, but I’d rather wait for releasing the Soarer and use it as one of the new cars for FH6. Now it just looks like a cheap way to fill up a slot instead of actually getting a new car the community wants, f.e. the Chaser JZX100.
Licensing shouldn’t be an issue if they can get the JZX80 and Soarer into FH5.
Indeed, it might’ve been a list minute addition to replace something that was supposed to make it but couldn’t for whatever reason.
The only promo shots available of it are the ones of it in the garage like in the header and the thumbnail, the other 3 cars all have multiple setpiece images of them ingame
And it’s also missing from the Twitter Banner
If it is a last minute replacement I would love to know what was actually supposed to be here instead
Stock performance should be better because it’s a twin-turbo with a smaller engine, but more horsepower. This is a prime example of a slower car in-game being replaced by its faster counter that should’ve been in the game in the first place.
It has a different, samller, lighter turbo’d engine (1JZ-GTE instead of 2JZ-GE) and Toyota TEMS (adjustable suspension (damping), doesn’t make any difference in Forza).
if only we got the base model to begin with and just had the other engines as engine swaps… but no they must pad out the car count and add 9 different 6th gen mustangs and 12 aventadors
For those who want to have a manual version of the 1997 Toyota Soarer GT-T (with the R154 5-speed transmission), enter these values in the 6-speed race transmission:
Toyota is my favorite brand, and it is a slightly different model and tbh I am happy with it. Still, would’ve been cooler to see a whole new car (well, doesn’t need to be new to Forza, e.g. the Altezza being so highly requested), for example the Starlet Glanza V, or the Trueno AE111 BZ-R, or the Toyota Curren, or a FWD Celica (this would’ve been easy to add, for example a 5th gen GT-R with 4WS or the Active Sports with worlds first active suspension, or from the 6th gen the SS-III). they would barely need any adjustments from their GT-Four counterparts, but then again, I can see people complaining because it’s similar to something we have in-game (though not as similar as between the Soarer and the SC).
But maybe this shows too that we’re nearing FH5s end, I except FH6 to be around next year. I still want Playground to take their time for FH6, to make it a real step up from FH5.
It’s nice to see that we see more normal cars and less hypercars in total.
And I hope they never add another 911. Guess we have about a million of those. Don’t think we need more Porsche.
