1984 Toyota Carina 1800GT-T Coupé

Dear Forza Development Team,

My name is Taras, and I am writing to you from Russia. I would like to respectfully ask you to consider adding a truly unique car to the game. I own this car in real life, and it would mean a lot to me to see it represented in the game. Let me tell you a little about it.

I would like to introduce the Toyota Carina A60.

The Carina was first introduced in 1970 as an intermediate model in Toyota’s lineup. It was available as a coupe, a four-door sedan, and later as a wagon. The Carina positioned itself between the smaller Corolla and the larger Toyota sedans. It was also aimed more at driving enthusiasts, as the first-generation models shared their platform with the Toyota Celica.

Although the Carina never achieved the same level of popularity as the Celica, it maintained a unique place in Toyota’s lineup. It offered a good amount of space while delivering a tighter, sportier feel compared to larger models such as the Toyota Mark II, which were more focused on comfort and luxury.

With the introduction of the third-generation A60 in the 1980s, the Carina continued to stand out as a unique option for those seeking a practical rear-wheel-drive experience. It was even used in the Paris-Dakar Rally at the beginning of that decade.

The A60 Carina was available with several engine options, including the turbocharged 3T-GTE four-cylinder engine and the legendary twin-cam 4A-GE engine, which became famous thanks to the Toyota AE86.

Since it shared the Hachiroku’s engine, as well as similar dimensions and styling, the A60 Carina sedan can, in many ways, be considered a four-door AE86. Because of these attributes, the Carina gained cult popularity among drifters and Toyota fans in Japan.

Simply put, the AE86 and the A60 are like sisters — just in different body styles.

For this reason, I strongly believe that this car deserves a place in the game. If the setting is Japan, it is important to respect and remember the old school of drifting culture.

This car is already featured in the video game CarX Drift Racing Online, where it is called Rina.

I truly hope you will see my letter and provide your feedback.

Kind regards,
Taras
