Car Pass and Ultimate owners do not need to install anything other than the content update (released after 10am Pacific); collect your cars for free from the Buy Cars menu. This pack DLC does not include the Totino’s Driver Gear, which was a separate promotional item not available in the Store. The pack adds 7 cars to the game roster:
I’m not one to normally complain about a car pack for this game, but I am so uninterested in this car pack that it’s not even funny.
The 911 is cool, I’m pretty certain more people will remember their first Forza 4 Chevy Spark or Aveo than this pack lol.
IMO: Remove the silly Volkswagen thing all of 15 people will use, drop in the new Bullitt and remove the M6 racer for either the Callaway C7.R or the Chiron, or even the new M5 and you’d have my attention.
Agreed! It is cool to have a car pack fraught with cars that spell “The History of Motorcars” but as we know most of the young people today don’t really care about history anymore! For real! They care about the fast and the furious, about scintillating things that slither and slide through the air at racing speeds, about cars modern and aerodynamic in resplendent colors, of which only two cars qualify, the 2017 BMW #24 BMW Team RLL M6 GTLM and the 1997 Lotus Elise GT1! All the others are historical relics, especially the 1970 Citroen 2CV and the 1968 Subaru 360. But more on the Citroen 2CV, a car that was developed in France to meet the needs of a largely rural farm population with the design intent of being capable of transporting up to four adults and 110 lbs of goods to market across unpaved sometimes muddy roads at a maximum speed of 30 mph using only two horses – yes the engine produces two bhp! Do we have dirt tracks in the game to test the car’s prowess? Or perhaps the car more readily belongs in the Horizon environment. Do we really need this history lesson in a game that sports as part of its title “Motorsports”? Do we need to race a two horsepower car in this game? If the producers of this game believe we do, perhaps a title change is needed: Forza Motorcars!
Great pack! The only one i’m not too interested in is the BMW but even that is pretty nice to have. Been waiting so long for the 2CV and its great to see an unsung hero like the Elise GT1. Love seeing obscurities like the Volkswagen and Subaru too.
So, still no Kia Stinger GT or newish super/hypercar, meh. But at least no SUVs or off-roads. The 2CV, 911 and Elise GT1(It’s been a while since Gran Turismo 2) make this worth for me though.
As has been mentioned several times in this thread (and will automatically be brought up any time the 2CV is mentioned), the two “horses” in the model name (deux chevaux) are a tax rating based on internal engine dimensions - the real car had between ~10 and 30HP depending on the model.
IMO, remove the silly modern cars and replace them with a legendary race car from years past.
I jest, since it’s nice to have another race car in the line-up, but you’re being ridiculous.
If you honestly think that only 15 people will use the the VW, you’re delusional. I’d personally much rather have that in a pack or a game than a Chiron.
Why does everything need to be the newest, most modern shiny thing? What’s wrong with having some classics?
I want to race the other cars around the Nurburgring, so your point is immediately rendered invalid. There are also many legendary classic cars missing, but the ones they’ve added go a fair way towards adding some more diverse cars to the line-up.
Ooooooh, someone’s going to be sitting quite uncomfortably! None of the cars added by the pack are in the Specials. The 2CV and the 360 are both added to the Major Micros division, and the VW is classed as a Vintage Sport Compact.
As for the pack, well - I haven’t even tried all of the cars yet, but I can say it gets a thumb up for me. You got your hero car in the form of the monstruous Elise GT1, a new GT car to play with with the M6, and then a nice helping of cars - both fast, slow, and slower - that are pieces of automotive history, and damn fun to drive too. With every passing month, Forza’s carlist is becoming more and more of a car nut dream.
Which is not to say, still, that I wouldn’t love to get a new LMP2 next month…
One car that is not older than 20 years? Seriously? I mean: Something defenetly went wrong if I am looking forward to the 2 Hyundais instead of this pack…
The M6 is cool and all, the Lotus could be a good car, the Porsche is a car you might be able to tune very well but the other four? Turn10 has to be joking!
Then why did the chose the VW, the Subaru or the Citroën? There are many cars missing like the 720S, the 2019 Corvette ZR1 or nearly every GT3/GTE/GTLM car to name a few. I do not say we should not get any classic cars, but if we get classic cars then why do we get cars that noone wants to race around a track like the Nordschleife? Why don’t they take a Plymouth Road Runner, a Ferrari FXX or a Lamborghini Diablo GTR?
Because after all this time they’re finally showing me a little DLC love. A tiny little handful of lovely, quirky little cars amidst the plethora of race cars, super hyper wedges, muscle cars, BMWs, Ferraris, Porsches. I can but hope that Major Micros will have more than 4 cars now. And, yes, I would totally race them on the full Nurburgring. They won’t even be the slowest cars I’ve driven round it.
I agree the balance in this pack is too far geared towards old classics, it would be better if it was more evenly distributed so everyone gets something that might interest them. I also think the 2CV, Subbie 360 and VW Type 3 are novelty cars that will be useless for racing.
