As the title states, I’m torn on whether to restart my game save, since the first time through, I apparently made too much progress while offline(console not connected to the internet), so two achievements never popped(because local storage can only hold so many for upload later), despite the stats showing them as completed(discover all roads, and complete all championships).
So, with the current #Forzathon being my last chance at barn finds 19 and 20 if I do restart, is it worth it to restart my save, losing all my paints, tunes, and #Forzathon reward cars I’ve accumulated to this point, just to no longer have to pretend to be satisfied with that infuriating 99.3% completion percentage slapping me in the face?
Is there a way to get those achievements without restarting, despite those tasks having already been completed according to the game itself…?
Don’t restart your save! That is a bad idea. The way I see it, you have two other options:
Connect your console to the internet and move local storage to cloud storage.
Make a new profile on your Xbox or PC (Whichever platform you’re on) and get 100% completion on that profile without risking your other one.
I would recommend moving your data to cloud storage so that you’ll have enough space to try and reunlock the achievements. If that doesn’t work, try making a new save on a new profile. Do not delete your current one! It is not worth it! Especially since you’ve done a lot of hard work and put a lot of time into unlocking all that stuff. Maybe make your current t profile one that you mess around with in multiplayer and make tunes and paints. You could make another profile to get 100% completion on the game. Trust me when I say that it is hard not to go for that 100%, ubt when everything you’ve worked so hard for, your paints, tunes, cars, forzathon rewards, and every single credit that you worked so hard to get, when everything is on the line just to get two achievements? Trust me, it’s not worth it.
Already have another profile(Buzz Goodyear), and I started playing FH3 with it two weeks ago, but despite the idea of making that second profile about a decade ago to focus on racing games, it’s still this profile that’s the primary, and most of my 100% completions have occurred on it(FM3, FH1, FH2pFnF[360+X1])…
No further suggestions on getting those Achievements to pop without a restart?
If so, then I’ll restart, but not until I put my cars up in the auction house, as I figure someone should get them, as opposed to letting them just disappear, plus, I’m hoping that unsold cars and unclaimed creds can be collected through the new save…
Have you tried deleting your profile from your Xbox and then adding it back on? Not sure if that will help you, but it is known to cause achievements that are stuck pop.
Worked for me in FH2. Same problem—I had all 65 perks from skill points but still no achievement. Followed similar advice and it worked, but need to be careful or you’ll overwrite your cloud save. For me I disconnected internet, deleted local save only (not cloud), started new save while still offline until I progressed enough to earn skill points, then reconnected internet, scored a couple points, achievement popped, then exit game, delete local save, restart and allow it to sync with the cloud… again, this was in FH2.
So, I did it - I restarted, and now my only regret is not having auctioned off more of my cars, as it turns out that if you leave the credits and unsold cars alone, they’ll still be there to collect when you unlock the auction house again.
Another pleasant surprise is that once I unlocked online again, all my previously completed #Forzathon challenges popped, and I went from level 6 to level 212 instantly…
Did your previously completed achievements pop or do you have to do them over?
I’ve got a heap of these as well, I was online when I completed them, but the Forza servers were having issues, so I am curious about any method to fix this as well.
I’m glad I’m not obsessed with achievements like some of you are, I would never get rid of all the work I put into this game just for some dumb little achievement.
It also saved me the trouble of going through every one of my cars and retuning them, as I’m also very particular about that, and I’ve changed how I set my cars up since originally starting out.
And I only had maybe 4 or 5 paint jobs that were done in this game(and none were particularly complex) - the rest were carry-over from earlier Forzas, and are still accessible.
The people I don’t get are the ones who are obsessed with acquiring the super-rares, like the '94 Silvia K’s - I had three from completing the #Forzathons in which they were offered, and tried to give one(the only one I hadn’t put any work into) to a friend via the auction house for the minimum amount it would let me, but apparently there are plenty of people who log into FH3 with the sole purpose of sitting in the auction house, refreshing until they see one, and jumping on it, so my buddy didn’t get the car(damn his crap Aussie internet).
I auctioned the remaining two before I restarted, which were sold as soon as I posted them, but(likely to the chagrin of those who obsess over that car), I got all 3 back, along with all my other #Forzathon reward cars, as soon as I unlocked online in the new save - less savory and rather unscrupulous types might take advantage of this, and flood the market with restart copies of rare cars…
