Does anyone know whether the partnership between T10 and Top Gear was to be continued for Forza 6? And assuming this is the case, I’m wondering whether this will have any impact on FM 6? It wouldn’t make much of a difference I suppose, but I was actually looking forward to hear Clarkson’s voice again in FM6. Let’s hope they sort this out in the best interest of the fans of the show asap.
I absolutely disagree with this. You cannot replace Clarkson really. The show will die without him.
I can find you thousands of others examples.
People are not replaceable, humans are not machines.
Agreed, but none different from some here stoning a person without knowing the true facts. I too hate and don’t agree with what he allegedly have done, but some wisdom on history teached me to decide if I will join the “stoners” or the “petitioners” only once true facts are on the table.
Absolutely, I cannot abide knee jerk reactions to media/ in media without facts. ( had my fill of that here in the U.S. this year.)
I have more attachment to the track than the voice overs ingame. I felt that they were somewhat lacking this time around, noticeably less.
That said, I’m really aggravated that these personalities have done “something” that has denied the public the ability to watch the show. Clarkson’s a twit, what arevelation. He’s fun to watch, and fun to disagree with. But when he has a problem with reality, and his influence outside the studio, he’s just being daft on a whole new level, unfortunately not new for him.
Preliminary Forza Motorsport 6 box art does not suggest a Top Gear partnership; although, that could easily be something intended to be announced later on. That said, many things could ride on Jeremy’s suspension, especially if voiceovers have already been recorded for Forza Motorsport 6. We’ll just have to see how it pans out.
Apart from the game and as much as I love Top Gear UK, I really am quite shocked at the silly hashtag support and online petitions. If he, indeed, did punch someone in the workplace, he is due every bit of punishment the BBC drops on that big head of his.
Perhaps if the Forza and Top Gear partnership could tail off into just a content-based coop (test track and car packs), and not include the celebrity “appearances”, any issues might be mitigated. Either way, I’m sure the suits at Microsoft Studios are watching this one closely.
That’s true. However, he’s not the only one being punished. Millions of Top Gear fans worldwide are being punished, too. Don’t punish the rest of us. Find a punishment that punishes just Clarkson, be it a big fine or whatever.
That isn’t the point. The BBC is publicly funded so we, the license payer, have funded the production of a series. The fact that there may, or may not, have been an “event” between one of the shows presenters and a member of the production team is an internal issue for the BBC to resolve behind closed doors. It should not prevent us, the people who paid for the shows from watching them. As for the “racial” remarks. A shows script is submitted for review prior to filming. It is filmed by a large production team. The show is then edited by another team and finally it’s broadcast. It isn’t the work of one person and until someone complained all of the people involved didn’t anticipate there being an issue. I like Clarkson. I don’t like people who are too precious and who look for things to moan about. So what if there was an altercation - it shouldn’t affect the screening of the show. I hope he, Hammond and May go to Sky and stick it up the self righteous, PC correct to the point of stupidity, over funded and under delivering BEEB. As for voice overs, he can still do it but not perhaps as a Top Gear presenter.
i dont think it will affect the game. it hasn’t effected the top gear live shows later this and next month, they are still selling tickets. he’s suspended not fired. and by pulling the show they ensure a ratings bump when they do air. its duck dynasty all over again.
I’d be less concerned about the voiceover (having Tanner Foust be the featured voice seems like an obvious choice) as the loss of the Top Gear Test Track. (Admittedly I don’t know how the licensing works but I assume the brand would continue even if the series ended). I know the track isn’t popular among multiplayer racers but I’d like it to be in FM6 and beyond for the history and benchmarking.
Having Foust do voiceover for FM6 could probably be just an arrangement between T10 and him without the Top Gear brand, I just meant that since they’ve already declared a partnership and worked with him before it seems like he would be an obvious choice to call upon as an asset.
Clarkson sold his stake in Top Gear to BBC Worldwide in I think 2011. The licensing would have been with the BBC. The use of the track wouldn’t be affected neither would using any of the current cast. That said, a Top Gear without Clarkson wouldn’t be much of a draw.
