Maybe in Year two we can expect city tracks?
I don’t know…I have a theory that they won’t bring city tracks because it would generate outrage with the fragile penalty system in place.
Imagine all the collisions between cars and with the track limits, especially in narrow sections.
That is the least of the problems I think. If the A.I. has good lines they drive good, that is all. The environment doesn’t matter at all. All the A.I. needs are good lines on the track.
Probably, but I was talking about multiplayer. Even if you’re an S driver matched with other S drivers you can easily end up in carnage and get unfairly penalized. (recently I ended up 2 or 3 times in B)
About AI, I never play offline but two days ago I forced myself to finish the tour to get the Porsche 993 GT2. It was painful. In fast chicanes (ex: the one on VIR full), the AI smashed the brakes a bunch of times and I received penalties for hitting them.
I guess they’ll never fix this.
Most ppl play Offline against themselves or against A.I…
I don’t really feel the need to play against other ppl. They usually use OP cars or OP tunings etc. it doesn’t even matter how good they are, it’s all because of the cars and the tunings that they are competetive, it’s not about skill.
Its probably the amount of time it takes to model a street circuit, that is the issue. I at least hope one or more street circuits are in the works though.
Oh my gosh, I’m so hyped for this!!!
This is going to be incredible fun to race on with the current gen hardware we have. Would absolutely go over the moon to see the others return too, like Kaido, Camino, Positano, Amalfi, Sedona, etc.
Don’t care how much time it takes, as long as they return.
Can’t wait for Peninsula - great memories from FM2
Wow your are optimistic. It’s cool and all but still T10 doing T10 things.
We should have had all these tracks at release already, this dripfeeding doesn’t help anyone.
It’s a start for sure. I’m always going to love anything from FM4 to see what it looks like on next gen hardware but I would’ve picked a different track tbh, if it had to be an oval based circuit then Sedona Park & it’s ribbons would’ve been prime choice.
Hopefully more will return in future updates, we definitely need some street circuits, New York Long would be a dream with the dynamic weather. Imagine that at night in the rain.
Yes the drip stinks. If i was a betting man in year 2 we will see the 5 remaining real world tracks still missing which would cover 10 months if the every other month cadence remains starting with bathurst in december. Then it would be monza, long beach, sonoma and cota. That leaves one spot open, but it could be anything, could be a returning fantasy, could be fan selected real world track etc.
Its unfortunate that this is how they planned their “live service”. That after 2 years post release this game will still have less tracks than its predecessor albeit with one (possibly 2) more real world tracks.
They dripfeed content to us, that was already planned before the game was even released.
I am in the minority I think. I want them to give us what they already gave us in FM7. And much more.
This track is not even in the top 30 voted on tracks in the suggestion hub, so what’s the point of voting?
I dont think you’re in the minority, i just think some people are happy to hear some kind of plan for the future no matter what it was. I think sunset isnt exactly the track people expected to return from fm4, but it may give them hope that another will come with the drift update(fujimi).
I think they should really think about reinstating more fantasy tracks from the past as they should technically be easier and cheaper to plug in. Imo tracks are the most important thing they can add, most people have a few favorite cars they use so adding more doesnt really mean much.
Yeah, that’s a really bad look for the game and for the company behind it…
Prior to FM8, Forza Motorsport installments released every 2 years:
2005 - FM1
2007 - FM2
2009 - FM3
2011 - FM4
2013 - FM5
2015 - FM6
2017 - FM7
…2023 - FM8
By the end of 2025 (2 years post-launch), it will be 8 years since the prior installment’s release…
…and then this installment will still only barely match the content & features from prior installments.
Historically, 8 years was enough time for them to release multiple titles.
…but it’ll take 8 years just for this one installment to finally catch up to its own past.
That’s not “pRoGrEsS.”
Obviously I meant racing tracks, as in stadia circuits which I’m sure you knew I was referring to
And what’s I’m saying is I don’t see the logic because there are plenty of active race series that use street circuits, including F1, Formula E, Nascar, Indycar, or even MotoGP.
That just doesn’t seem to be their focus attm and other than long beach and Bathurst i hope it remains so until we’ve got all the missing tracks
You consider Formula-E a good thing?
Yeah no, I don’t like that I guess I am not alone with that thought.
Imagine the best car, it will never be a EV. Maybe a hybrid but never a pure EV.
It was a really fun track, but I’m not hyped for its return in the slightest. Maybe if the update before and after it also contained a returning track I would be excited, because FM would finally be receiving an adequate amount of content. Yes, one track per two months is far too low, because most if not all of the tracks are just ported from the last game they appeared in directly to FM with some foliage changes. And that’s it. At least fictional tracks don’t have the issue of possibly (likely) being inaccurate in multiple places, because they’re fictional.
100% correct. It was/is a horrible plan and is certainly a prime contributor as to why this game has struggled to attract and keep players.
Unfortunately theres nothing that can change these early missteps in development. Theyre not going to drop a 10 track pack, the slow drip will continue.
They said the game will be supported in 2025, so they at least committed to one more year of content. I dont think its realistic to think this game will ever truly be successful in both the market as well as in the players eyes. If you continue to play, its just something that needs to be accepted for what it is, not what it could have been because that time has past.
