It became more famous when Sean Connery drove it in a car chase in the James Bond Dr. No movie

With the help of Carroll Shelby the Rootes Group (owners of Sunbeam) decided to create a more powerful version which featured Ford V8 engines, this was marketed as Sunbeam Tiger:
