Why are only some convertible cars eligible for the summer specials champship. Is it only specific roadsters or is there some grouping that covers the included cars that I’m not aware of?
Also the Mazda MX-5 and Abarth 124 won’t shown on the eligible cars lists but were amoug the cars used by the drivetars
I had this same question. There’s only 4 cars shown when I select “view eligible cars”: Eagle Speedster, Lotus 340R, Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage, and Porsche 718 RS 60. But when enter the event There are 12 cars available (only 1 is from the 4 eligible cars) because they happen to be A class.
“View Eligible Cars” doesn’t look at your garage, but at the Autoshow. It searches for cars that could be allowed to participate without any tune, as soon as you buy them.

Yeah, sometimes I’m able to find a Forza edition or exclusive car in my garage that didn’t show up under Eligible cars. Which is nice, because I often have a tune handy for those.
Best way around it, I’ve found, if you don’t like the autoshow options available, check the “theme” of the race, and see if you have any cars that match. Sometimes it’s one or two different divisions, or manufacturers, which makes it easy. Then go to your garage, check that division or manufacturer, and see if you have a non-autoshow car that matches. Make sure it’s tuned to the right class, and then try to start a championship with it.
This one’s a bit harder, since it seems to be “convertibles” or something somewhat vaguely defined. I just used the Eagle, since I bought it for a championship last fall that I ended up not doing, and hadn’t used it since. I figured I should get some use out of it.
I made a blueprint for the forzathon where the drivatars drive on the side of the road so that you can drift in peace and rack up those showoff skills. The blueprint is called Forzathon ez showoff skills
I used a tip from here and did it in a drag race 
And I just started Car files and it’s great. It’s hard to not to love this game.
Well they aren’t just making them easier, they’re adding more of them (new story) to reach the same percent goal, so technically the percent achieved per task is going down. God forbid they make you actually get good at a video game to get rewarded, but instead they just want you to spend more time on easy tasks, all with a time-gated expiry date. So they want you to do more (easy) tasks in a given real world amount of time or else miss out on big exclusive rewards. but if you’d like to challenging yourself to get good and do difficult solo tasks at your own pace, there’s basically no reward.
They’re turning this game into a grind fest, that’s the subscription (game pass) model for you right there, keep you playing by dangling a carrot in front of you. This game would be so much better if it wasn’t on game pass.

Totally agree with all of that. Expert, Highly Skilled, Unbeatable, who cares, they’re all too easy and no challenge at all. This game will not be fun to play until the last exclusive car has been given out and we can all stop doing this boring unchallenging stuff and have some time to actually play the game instead. But of course, by then, there’ll be hardly anyone left playing it.
I’m convinced all the faults in the game are intentional, to keep people “engaged” waiting for updates that they hope will fix all the problems, but never do. As an example, I raised a support ticket months ago to ask for some way to see if a car can be bought from the autoshow or not. So when we look in the garage for cars to delete or auction, or when we see that a car is a reward for something, I want to be able to see if each car can be bought from the autoshow. I don’t see how this can be hard to do, and would make a huge difference to the game, but update after update has arrived and still it’s a nightmare trying to delete duplicate cars. Another example is a way to carry out time trials for tuning. All they have to do is allow us to have the first 26 secs ghosted like in adventures, that would solve the problem. Again, nothing, and it’s hugely annoying when you’re tuning cars. Instead they spend time creating new HSs and showcase remixes, all of which just generate extra dull boring work that stops us from enjoying the game.

That’s a good point though, and I’m surprised we’re not talking about it more. The stories were single player experiences that you could play at your own pace without needing to be concerned about it being time gated. But adding them to the playlist adds an unnecessary time crunch to it.

I don’t like current expiration of everything but have it as a main job so it’s fine. I sometimes wonder how normal people play

This weeks Trial was one of the best so far. Had a good team and we won it at first try.
Showcase remix was cool, took one effort.
I got very lucky with Playground event too, great team, opposite team quit on round 3, easy win. I like how we get to try all different sorts of cars. Tuned Ford Anglia for joke to this even and then it turned out to be surprisingly good. Never came to think that could work.
I think I did all the PR stunts with Bugatti Veyron SP. Windmill is fun, though I don’t see myself getting anywhere near world records.
Did S2 Championship with Ferrari F50 GT I think. Good champ, though I read somewhere that requirement is now Highly Skilled instead of Expert? Expert was good though.
Locked Horns Championship was really tight for me. I started with mildly upgraded Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, couldn’t push to the first position in first two races and upgraded it a bit for final race. Luckily winning that was enough to win the championship. For me this was very enjoyable I think 'Vette or Viper could really ace the champ.
Summer Specials was another one where I get to try new car. I actually wanted to it earlier but never get to do that, Lotus Elise Series 1 Sport 190. Didn’t do any upgrading nor tuning and it turned out to be really fun car which made the champ good experience. Haven’t really tried the Mini convertible yet.
Morgan playlist thing, learning to drift with it was fun but I needed to switch off-line mode to get requited Threading the Needle skills. I don’t think that was intended.
Car Files was… short. I think my favourite mission was Morris Minor mission. Driving that insanely tuned thing to main event listening to some rock tongue firmly in cheek. Took a while to figure out I need longer distance to get enough speed for 3 stars. Chevy Utility Sedan mission was great too. Both VW Bug missions and the last one with Mazda MX-5 Miata. Overall I liked Car Files a lot more than Skillstreak.
Not sure why they put “car files” as part of the playlist. I hate those story things personally. There’s no way that I can see to 3 star the skills one with the Manx in the time given. If anybody knows any tricks for that one it may save me from smashing my screen.

Like somebody wrote, try the airport. I did it on the second try because car is light and I lost my first chain from start for heavier “fence”. It’s better to have only one for the whole score.
High tail it down to the dunes by the castle where all the fences are. Don’t try to get points on the way or you will run out of time. I managed to get 242,000 there

Head straight to the drag strip on the beach and just drift up and down through the light yellow fences. They don’t get heavy enough to break the chain and in this specific event(as far as I can tell) you don’t need to let the chain bank for it to count. You need 40,000 points with the max multiplier, x5, to get to 200,000. Once you get that keep going till it ends and you’ll get it.
