Another Possible engine swap would be the FA24T being that it is on the Subaru Global Platform.
As someone who owns a 23 Crosstrek 6MT Premium, this would be amazing! I would say that the 2021-2023 facelift looks a lot better instead of the 2017-2020 model so It would be nice to see the 2021-2023 instead. I know at first glance this car might not look like it would amount to a whole lot but it truly is an amazing little car and many people have done incredible builds. Both for Over-landing and rallying. Vermont Race Car used a GP Crosstrek and turned it into a true rallycar and it is absolutely awesome! It was specifically made for Subaru Rally Team China. There’s also a team down in Australia that used the Crosstrek GP Manual Transmission in the Sunraysia Safari Rally. It may not have won but it still finished 6th overall. Not bad considering it was almost completely stock. I would say if this is put into the game I would advocate for the 2.0L 6MT to be used instead of the CVT. The TY751DJDA transmission really perks up the 2.0L while the CVT is a bit sleepy being that it is designed for fuel economy efficiency. Plus the TY751 Transmission was and is still used in the WRX (Excluding the STi). Also, I would like to see the STi Muffler kit added as well. I installed this myself and though it may not provide significant performance gains if any at all it sure adds a nice exhaust sound to the FB20. Plus it adds a nice sporty look to the back as well.
For aspiration options AVO Turboworld makes a turbo kit for the FB20 so for aspiration options that would be one. Another would be a supercharger. I know the BRZ has the option and I’ve seen some do a DIY supercharger kit for the Crosstrek but as far as one dedicated for the FB platform I have not seen yet.

Seeing as how Horizon 5 has received its final car pack and will likely not see anymore new vehicles added for Horizon 5 due to Horizon 6 potentially coming out this year or next, I would LOVE to see the (2019-2023) Gen 2 Crosstrek 6MT added in the next Horizon game. I know people LOVE the WRX STi’s (as well as myself) dearly, but I feel that there is a lack of Subaru vehicles in the Forza Horizon games. Yes there is the BRAT, Legacy, (newly) SVX, and the BRZ (Gen1 and Gen2) however, I think that Playground games missed the mark by not adding the Crosstrek to the roster. I understand when people think Subaru it’s either the WRX or BRZ typically, and I know there are those who think Crosstrek they think slow economy grocery getter mom car. And I will say that the Crosstrek is much more than that. Is it fast? Well that’s a bit more of perspective isn’t it? Compared to the WRX, no it is not. What the Crosstrek is though, is a very fun car with the Manual Transmission. It wants to be fast with that TY751 transmission from the WRX which the current WRX still uses. People have done swaps to make it fast, a Crosstrex so to speak. AVO Turboworld developed a turbo kit specifically for the FB20 engine. The Crosstrek can be a tiny little monster despite being equipped with the FB20D engine factory. I know not every car that people ask for will be added into the game but I really think people will enjoy the Crosstrek. I love racing my 08 Impreza WRX STi and tuned as close to a Crosstrek as possible and colored in that lovely Cool Grey Khaki in Horizon, but honestly it just does not feel the same as the real thing. If the Crosstrek is to be added to say Horizon 6, I would love to volunteer my own Crosstrek 6MT to be scanned and all of that other fun stuff. Also to Playground Games and the Forza team (if any of you read this), thank you all for your hard work and providing excellent racing games and giving us all a chance to drive cars we could only dream of driving in real life over the years. I have very much enjoyed both the Forza Motorsport series and the Horizon series. Cheers!
