Which engine option do you prefer for Standard models?
Up until the sixth generation, the Subaru Sambar was a small pick-up Truck and van equipped with a rear-engine, rear-wheel drive layout and four-wheel independent suspension.
Since its launch in 1961, it had consistently adopted the RR layout and four-wheel independent suspension until 2012. The adoption of four-wheel independent suspension in particular was rare even for Japanese cars at the time.
The drive system can be selected as RR-based 2WD or AWD. The inline 4-cylinder engine is available with either a naturally aspirated or supercharged version.
The sixth-generation Sambar (1999-2012), the last model produced by Subaru itself, is a perfect model to include in Forza.
Because from the seventh generation onwards, it became an OEM model supplied by Daihatsu and lost Subaru’s uniqueness.
The model in the image was released as a limited edition (WR BLUE LIMITED) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Sambar’s launch. A total of 1,000 pick-up Trucks and vans were made. It was available in WR Blue Mica, inherited from the Impreza WRX STI, and featured special seats with black fabric and yellow stitching. Due to its rarity, it sold out in an instant.
The genuine WR BLUE LIMITED is only available as a naturally aspirated engine, and supercharger that was available on the standard model is not included. However, since the Forza’s engine is easy to replace, you can enjoy imaginary upgrades such as replacing it with Subaru’s EJ20.
2012 Subaru Sambar “Akabou Ver.”
The Sambar exclusively used by Akabou is a vehicle that has been type-approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (it has a classification number). In other words, it is a different car because it has a different model designation from the standard vehicle.
The engine used has been redesigned and reinforced parts have been incorporated into each part, greatly improving durability. Despite being used in the harsh conditions of high load and long distance travel of freight transport using a small displacement vehicle, it is designed to be able to be used for up to 200,000 km with only general severe condition maintenance without any special overhaul.
