Can someone explain to me how is the final position made when 3 drivers have the same amount of points?

In this championship I was first twice, then second and i had two nightmare free roams when I was something like 5th and 7th?

I thought that when two players have the same amount of points, the player who won more events will be ranked higher, but I am classified 3rd. I dont remember what places the other two guys got but it was at best that one of them won the remaining 3 races and second one had 0 wins, or one of them won 2 and other one won 1. In either case I should be at least 2nd?

It is determined by who had the higher point total in the previous race. In your picture the first place racer was in first place the previous race, the 2nd place racer was in 2nd place in the previous race and you were in third in the previous race. Therefore, when all your points ended up tied it kept that same order. In order to pass a point leader you need to get more points, if you end up tied with someone that was already higher than you the previous race it gives the tie breaker to the person that held the higher position previously.
