On pc steam when placing props will soft lock after a very short time of 2 to 4 minutes of being in the placement / selection process. You can return to " continue to create route " only. After that all controller and keyboard inputs are not recognized at all and you have to force close via cntrl + f4 or task manager. This has been happening for a while now but I wanted to see if it got addressed over the past few updates but it has not yet. Needless to say this makes creating any blueprints impossible with props. I’ve tried placing 1 item at a time then return to the car to press the throttle for game recognition but that doesn’t even prevent the soft lock.
New Eventlab Island soft locks at the same point of creation as the main map on Steam PC. I tried the new content in solo mode but after just a few minutes of picking and placing a couple of props upon the " continue to create route " the game soft locks. The audio and vehicle’s last frame are present however all controller or keyboard inputs are not recognized whatsoever to pull up any UI components including the main menu, throttle is non responsive as well. A true soft lock with force closing the game all together being the only recovery method. To me it feels like it’s looking for human activity and there’s a communication error or disagreement of some sort between the “game time” and “creation” servers if that’s how it works / programmed.
@hotrods70 is this still happening since recent FH5 updates?
@T10ManteoMax. Sorry for the late response.
I’ve tested in solo on the main map and on event island.
The issue of the soft locking seems to be resolved with this update. Thank you team on that !
There is a issue with downloading community made prefabs and on ending to save the route. Both instances result in " cannot save file (25) " similar to the other issue I’ve reported
So regarding the input issue, I’ve ran into a similar issue where after hours of work and not saving, the game will have an issue where I no longer can do any input from any device. Its come to my understanding that Forza does this when there are too many input devices connected at one time and even though its not ACTIVELY receiving an input from the other devices, the game will get confused as to which input its supposed to be receiving and will crash to some extent only allowing some inputs from certain devices. The temp fix I’ve found is limiting myself to only 1 or 2 input devices max i.e. only having K&M with controller connected to my PC and disconnecting my wheel entirely or any combination of those 3 devices.
As for prop placement, I’ve noticed that even after the October updates, props will still lag out and freeze over time from a series of multiple duplications of the same item across a large distance when the attachment nodes option is turned on. This causes props to no longer be adjusted and once you let go of them they are lost forever and frozen in that specific position never to be deleted again. You can tell if this happens by being able to go “ghost” through the prop when in the builder mode. Sometimes, props will revert when you close and reopen the blueprint allowing for them to be deleted but not always.
