Simhub pedal telemetry overlay

I modified the Input Display - Modular overlay made by romainrob for SimHub and it works perfectly with Forza. It looks similar to racelab pedal telemetry overlay but without the revs and wheel animation.

Here is a terribly looking video of it in action: SimHub - Simple Pedal Telemetry.mp4

:warning: This overlay requires the Input Display plugin by romainrob.

How to install:

  1. Download romainrob’s collection installer here.
  2. Execute the installer.
  3. In the select components to install screen, unselect everything except Input display - Modular.
  4. Finish the installation.
  5. Launch Simhub and enable the plugin.
  6. Download my modified overlay at: SimHub - Simple Pedal Telemetry.simhubdash
  7. Go to SimHub → Dash Studio → Dashboards tab: click Import dashboard (top right) and select the downloaded overlay.
  8. Go to SimHub → Dash Studio → Overlays tab: Select Simple Pedal Telemetry, click NEW LAYOUT button, position the overlay where you want and save the layout.
  9. Go back to Overlays tab and enable the layout to auto start with the game.

Hope you enjoy it and see you out on the track.

I’ve had something like this on my dash for a year, it’s very handy.

It’s indeed very handy, I’ve been using it to quickly glance if I am braking, accelerating and trail braking properly.

Wow I cannot believer I didn’t know about Motorsport Ultimate until now :man_facepalming:. It looks amazing, I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

Honestly, the best thing about Motorsport Ultimate is being able to have the suspension telemetry up at all times and positioned directly in the center of your FOV. Makes tuning spring rates and ride height so much easier when bottoming out is so heavily defined.

I spent a while customizing the fonts and deleting certain elements to make it feel more homogenous with the native HUD elements. The default fonts, the shades for green and red, and the lack of shadows makes the readable elements look a little out of place… like noticeably third-party, if that makes sense.

Hi there lad. The fonts that come with the overlay are Forza Font. Like literally… That’s THE font Forza uses. Which is Bahnscrift Condensed Light and other variants of Bahnscrift. So I’m not quite sure what is the issue you were/are experiencing there. Care to elaborate?

As far as the colors, ye I hear ya and it was a stylistic choice of mine to make the Green and Red a bit more vibrant and not quite as heavy on the green and red tone design wise.
The green has some hint of blue to bring it’s hue more towards an Aquamarine, and the Red more towards a Cherry Red. Both brought up in saturation.

I understand why this may be annoying if the overlay is used in combo with Forza’s default elements (like timing for example) since the difference is evident there. With that said… I don’t think I’ll switch to Forza’s default ones since I very simply don’t like the “Red” they use for penalties and Positive splits ahahah. I’ll test and play with it but no pinky promises

Oh, did you make it? If so, sick, and thanks for the overlays.

Is the in-game font confirmed as Bahnschrift? Because I know that’s what the overlay uses, but the in-game font looks closer to a condensed DIN. So I switched fonts over to something else that I personally thought was a closer match (can’t remember which, not DIN though, given that it isn’t in Simhub’s font selection) and added a 2-weight shadow to all text forms (I think some overlay elements have 0, 1, 2, or 3). I think specifically for the Last Lap and Delta numerics, I specifically used Eurostile for the rounded edges even though that deviates from the look.

I can understand the personal decisions behind the delta coloring; it’s more in-line with every other sim that’s not Forza lol.

None of it’s an “issue,” though, just personal preference.

Not officially confirmed but ye it’s Bahnscrift Condensed Light for most of the elements. Or variant of that. DIN is also very closely matched. As far as the shadows, ye i’m using between 1 - 2 - 3 based on the Element size because otherwise with the way SimHub renders the elements, having static shadows at 2 (or 3) simply will make it look like I intentionally placed double characters 2 pixel down as opposed to an actual shadow. If you try to change the Shadows for the “[x LAPS]” within the Fuel Overlay to like 3, you’ll see what I mean. It yeets them off into the distance
