My good old Dirt 2 really had replay enjoyable just as it was.
Pretty much as a TV broadcast covering race would have.
I fiddled some with View Replay in F7 and you don’t get to enjoy it with spectator cameras everywhere, it become trunkated cornering and don’t even follow cars through a turn.
Project Cars had really enjoyable selections on how to view a replay too.
That would be sick for league racing. Maybe the cameras will automatically change every once in a while to a different angle or driver to make it seem more “realistic”. Then, if you want to watch a specific driver you can select them like in FM7.
A really simple solution to this at least for the Steam and Microsoft Store versions is the ability to change the broadcast overlays from the base game using Racelabz. The site normally just needs a game source code and it allows you to completely customize everything!
Few features it shows
Car placement with relative in distance and time
Fuel
Tire usage
Track Map with everyone’s live positions
Best laps
Places gained and lost since start of session
And full PNG and Vector placement and customization
Many sims have allowed this tool for professional broadcasting such as iRacing, ACC, RFactor2, and soon to be Rennsport. I think allowing this tool for broadcasting off the PC version in multiplayer sessions and league races like TORA, PTG, DOR, etc would be extremely helpful to the league racing community
