So now you’re giving away for 450FP a car that is supposed to be a reward on the eliminator? Just like you have been doing for the last few forzathon shops where people can get supposed “rare” cars that went on the game for the first time some weeks ago? Why should i even bother to the the “missions” ou try to get rewards if you are giving them away weeks later?! Makes no sense. What next? The Capri FE for 300FP, the GT3 RS PO for 350FP?
Sooooo…people that don’t have access to the online features or don’t want to play the Eliminator shouldn’t be allowed to get the car by any means, right?
Once upon a time they already gave the Capri FE away, and I they did PO cars for point already.
Only really, I don’t follow what your issue (the way you write to me says ‘issue’, I may be wrong) is with this, you don’t want them to do this, you did the work and you don’t like they did it this way now, you like to be in the ‘few’ that have exclusive cars, you are surprised/confused, but happy? Really unclear to me.
Thanks for letting me know about that! I already have all the eliminator cars and the Capri FE, and I never bothered with that game mode, and I haven’t completed the star card as well. Thanks auction house!
There are two sides to the coin for this arguement. Those that obtained the car through the Eliminator get to enjoy the early. Those were not motivated to get it can get it now, provided they are willing to spend Forzathon points. I earned mine in less than 8 hrs in total through Eliminator (Season 1 - before the update)
After all, some of the cars locked behind these acheivement ladders are available as playlist rewards. Why shouldn’t the Megane R.26R be available as a seasonal playlist reward?
I played Eliminator and got Megane. And I think their decision this time around is a very good one.
Just because it’s easily available to other players doesn’t change the value of the Megane I have.
And it’s not like the few hours I spent on an eliminator I don’t want to do to get this car are going to be wasted.
I was able to enjoy this car a little earlier than they did. And other players who haven’t had a Megane yet can enjoy this car without having to go through the hassle. It’s a good thing, isn’t it?
You are missing my point here, the thing is why should i even bother to the the “missions” or try to get rewards?! I mean, the car is free to everyone, the only thing you need to do is earn some achievements. If the prize is the same for the one who finished first and the one who finished last then we’re just giving participation trophies. Is this making sense? I’m not saying people can’t have them, ofc they can (it’s not a paid car), but just earn it then.
From my point of view, its not that difficult. I see you point and comprehend the message you are trying to convey. Most people that complain behind time-gated exclusives want the cars without any effort to earn them at all. I think, the current playlist as well as Eliminator are quite easy to complete with proper strategy. I assume they decided to released these cars due to amount of unhappy customer tickets.
I had hoped, the car would cost close to 1500 FZP, since its the first time its release. Well, those Forzathon points will just go to waste now until the next expensive object in the shop.
450FP take a while to get, actually. I may have 10,000 FP, but newcomers may not…
What I don’t get is why free DLC absolutely requires effort to get, and why does this effort must be based around time-gated events. And most people, like me, are not even complaining about the effort, just the quality of it.
I don’t see what is lost by adding the cars to the Autoshow. Divo for example could cost 3,000,000 CR, that’s a pretty large sum for newcomers, but you would be able to buy multiple at any time, and some people would play for longer just to amass this money in-game than if they had to beat 50% of a checklist. For a newcomer, 3 million may take days, but 50% Playlist takes 1h30 if counting only offline events. Most expensive car in the game, barring AH shenanigans, is the Alfa that comes with Edinburgh Castle, which has an achievement tied to it and felt much more of a reward than any car I won thru Playlist.
Better yet, make it like NFS so that beating stories, races, etc. adds the car to Autoshow instead of giving them as prize. You get double the effort, to unlock and to earn money.
Money is essentially useless to me at this point, I have like 320 million and nothing to spend it on. It’s true that some people glitched their way to riches (not my case ofc), but why should this mean money becomes useless?
Yeah, but the Megane will always be offered as a reward for acheiving a certain level in Eliminator. Why should your perception of eliminator influence the gameplay of others? I don’t like Eliminator because I prefer either team racing or team games. Between eliminator or drifting, I would then choose eliminator as it does have a fun perspective to it, though frequent eliminator matches are not for me. A new player will have various things to do in forza and he’s likely not to get bored. That being said, let players despite their prestige levels in the game enjoy the game. Smurfs in team games teams have approx. 5 accounts - I can’t imagine why people would need more than one, but that’s their game and if it brings them enjoyment as long as its abides to the ToS, why not?
A Bugatti Divo for 3 million credits? I won’t buy one from the autoshow if the price is below 19 million at least. Its easy to earn credits in this game and I am currently at 200 million, trying not to farm at all. New players should focus on the core game features before hunting off for their favourite cars. If they need the car, then there are various ways to farm for that specific car. Also, name a game which similar to Horizon that gives their players cars in the garage as DLC in the last five years??
If I needed / want to play NFS , I would. However, I cannot come to terms with cars that can turn 90° at 200km/h - somehow illogical and impossible in the real world. Though why does everyone compare Horizon to other games? Why should all games be the same in the end of the day? Different features are what makes the game unique. The seasons is actually a great idea, but perhaps a duration of 10 days per season would be better.
In the end of the day, cars behind time gated events will be reintroduced into the playlist as well as the forzathon shop.
Why should it influence the gameplay of others? Four reasons:
- Eliminator was mandatory to get the car
- Grinding in Eliminator takes time, not skills, it’s definitely no crowning achievement
- Exclusives in Eliminator are there purely to boost attendance
- Players interested in Mégane are not likely to be interested in Eliminator, and vice-versa (Mégane is a great road car, not what Eliminator’s about)
Actually, scratch that. You’re forced to play online to get the car. How is that optimal? For PC players, maybe, but on console we have to pay. For Xbox owners the Mégane and Cougar sure weren’t free!
I have 320 million and was only able to become this rich by exploiting AH after they let non-Legend players sell exclusives for reasonable amount. I really don’t think anyone camping TA and TG would be able to reach 200 million just from events. Only if you’ve been playing from the very beginning and haven’t spent much buying cars/houses, and even then it’s doubtful. Especially TG takes very long to complete, and vulnerable to disconnect, not a good way to farm money. There’s no challenge in exploiting the AH, you just abuse the market.
Eliminator is not a core feature of the game. It was added more than a year after release. BTW, TG is not a core feature of the game either… That’d be saying Battle Mode was a core feature of Mario Kart or Minigames a core feature of Pokémon Stadium. It’s a fun distraction, but not what we’re here for (that’d be racing/stunting). Yet didn’t stop Playground from forcing people to play TG to win cars in the past.
Name a game that gives free cars in the garage as DLC in last 5 years? Forza Motorsport 7! As well as NFS Heat (DB11 Volante was free, only KS kit was unlockable). And the countless sims with free DLC (Assetto Corsa and Project CARS for example).
(I would be fine with cars in the Autoshow BTW)
Yes, cars do come back, but not with the same frequency. As a seasoned player surely you’re aware that Playground manipulates the AH prices by controlling supply. The cars whose price they want to crash will appear more often, the cheap/unpopular ones will not. And new exclusive cars have to compete for attention with FEs, wheelspin locked cars, regular yet expensive cars and sometimes even story cars (Boss 302/Zenvo). More than a hundred cars are exclusives, you can’t expect a steady stream of every car.
“Why can’t games be different?” I wonder that sometimes. Wish Horizon didn’t bother copying The Crew’s Summit lists.

I currently play on XBOX and only have XBOX Gold at the moment. Each month, we get two free games that more or less is cheaper or equivalent to the price of Xbox Gold, regardless if the games are played by players. Assuming you don’t download the free games - completing Eliminator isn’t hard, unless you play without strategy which includes knowing the map, locations of the trees etc. I DISLIKE this game mode and I find it a pointless achievement, but its achievable compared to legendary tuner/livery achievements for most. With the Megane as a prize for level 11, its not really hard to get despite being the longest game mode in the game (or does ranked drift take the trophy here?). For those like me, who got it in the beginning get to enjoy the car for the effort we put in which I think its fair. With the introduction of the car to be purchasable with Forzathon points is a great addition.
Assetto Corsa has free DLC? Are you referring to the Porsche 911 due to an error in the Porsche packs? Unless you obtained the packs through their channels, then the DLC is locked behind a price. Similar to the NFS, TDU and Project Cars 2, most of their DLC are not free. Forza Motorsport has a handful of free DLC cars as do Project Cars. What about Horizon? We have the Mosler for free for every new player, the Mitsubishi car pack,Talbot Sunbeam and another car (classic racer), Toyota Supra, etc that can be purchased from the autoshow. Most games gives under 5 cars for free. However, for open world exploration arcade racing, FH has surpassed NFS.
Incidently, this is my second time reaching 200 million - mostly due to team adventure, team games and rivals. I had 100+ over laps in the Bugatti Lego Chiron monthly rivals and I had over a million credits for that - I didn’t want to change controller setup for team games, which leaves me close to 4 seconds slower than the best time and I strive to get at least 2 seconds from the top players like No3InGame etc. I’ve only did the highway farming twice for 10 laps and the credits earned was spent in Auction house bidding cars at cheaper prices than in the showroom. I’ve used the auction house, but never to farm for credits by selling expensive cars. To date I have had more than ten 1 Million credit wheelspins since I started playing in 2019 coupled with the VIP Wheelspins, credits were not really an issue. After reaching 200 Million for the first time, I purchased expensive cars from the AH to ‘start again’ without going through the hassle of a new profile - going through 400+ normal wheelspins is a bore, but it got me back to ~34 million. It is possible even if you don’t farm with Goliath.
Whether or not Eliminator or TG is a core feature of the game - I’ll leave the developers to decide that. I’ve voiced my dissatisfaction through support ticket for game modes I dislike. TG may not be a core feature, but the mini-games have been since Horizon 1. Though, how could you tell if it is or not a core feature of a game if you’re not part of the PG /T10 team? On the official website of Forza Horizon states the core features of the game ( don’t forget to read the ranked teams part).

…why should i even bother to the the “missions” or try to get rewards?! I mean, the car is free to everyone…
So clearly you didn’t enjoy the grindy process to bring forth the car.
You don’t have to, but you didn’t have the choice. So you were forced to have the game played you instead…

…the only thing you need to do is earn some achievements. If the prize is the same for the one who finished first and the one who finished last then we’re just giving participation trophies. Is this making sense?
Have you ever considered: what’s the essence of the game?
As someone who cannot Cope with Online Multiplayer due to Various Learning Disabilities and Mental Health issues, I was very Pleased to see the Megane in the Forza Shop, even though I got the Car in the Auction House some Months ago, as it gives Me Hope that the Cougar Eliminator will be coming to the Shop Soon, and that the Capri FE may also appear there in Future, so I will be able to get them there and wont have to Waste Turn 10’s time by Submitting a Ticket to get them Gifted to Me instead.
By Putting MP cars into the Forza Shop, they make the Game a lot More Accessible for the Disabled Community, so I support that Decision whole Heartedly as one of that Community.
Not Everyone has the ability to COPE with Online Multiplayer, such as People with Certain Kinds of Autism Related Learning Difficulties. If the Car Stays locked up Behind MP, then those users will never be able to Acquire it, this, IMO, is a form of Discrimination.
It has to be available in Single Player offline as well for those users, or the Game is being Discriminatory, It really is that Simple.

Personally I would have made them 150 and 175FP, respectively.
It’s cars, you’re not better than anyone because you have the Mégane while others don’t. Mégane is actually pretty good in competitive, so why force online racers to play Eliminator to get it? Much of Eliminator involves Free Roam Rush style racing, and the people who were the most vocal against its presence in Ranked Road racing were online players.
The Delivery mission has the Mini-Traveller as a prize so it’s actually worth doing for people who don’t own the car yet.
They offer most cars in multiple ways. Like they should. What about people who cannot get online to do it in eliminator? No big deal, you aren’t special cause you have a rare car.
I got a R262R and a Cougar early. And an FE Capri. They’re fun cars, kill it, and I’d never get them as one owner ever. So, I was happy with 2 owner R262R. Now someone else has it, tuned, and I have a one owner. Tuned.
I’d never finish star card if ya held a gun to my head, This is fun, not a chore to be accomplished.
I’m happy they gave people shot at them.
I’ve earned 999M now on my 3rd round. Can buy whatever. I just buy big dollar stuff and sell cheap. Hopefully snipers don’t get them. Money ez onece you get rolling. But it takes a bit.
I see no problem with this. People who bothered with the Eliminator or stalked the auction house had access to the Mégane months before it arrived at the Forzathon Shop. Now everyone can buy one for a minor cost which is great.
In general PG should follow T10’s way in unlocking the hundreds of “exclusive” cars for purchase at the autoshow. Maybe a month after they were initially available? It does not hurt anyone and would be a player-friendly decision.
And yes, I have every single car in the game and wouldn’t mind if other players could reach this status with less time investment. None of the cars were particular challenging to get in the first place.
Unlike in Forza 7 where stuff like the Torana FE were initially locked behind Rivals events against real-life pro drivers from the Indycar Series or similiar.
Those challenges took effort and not many players got them. But did I moan when T10 offered them for everyone at the autoshow? No, because I knew for myself how I got those cars and this was enough.
I hope they unlock all cars for EVERYBODY when Horizon 4 hits “End of life” status… It did not hurt anybody in Forza Motorsport 7.
When Forza Horizon 5 is announced, the only people who will care about keeping cars locked will be scalpers charging 20,000,000CR for them the auction house. Everybody else will move on to the new game.
I have every car unlocked apart from the Chevy Camaro PO, and i would be happy to see all exclusive cars available for everyone who bought the game to enjoy.
Not everybody can grind video games for hours like some of us are lucky enough to do.
