Race spec upgrade packages

GT has had this feature.

It’s quite nice.

Not feasible for every car going to be in FM but could be added to over the games lifespan.

Idea being we can save up credits and upgrade our starter car to its race spec version (if such a version exists in real life)

Race spec could be touring car spec, GT spec etc depending on car model.

Car can’t be upgraded/downgraded after changing to race spec.

I’d like to see, similar to the current widebody/drifting packages, a package which turns an ordinary car into a fully fledged racer. Not just using current upgrades but going even further than you’re able to on FM7 and FH5 at the moment.

As an example I’d like to take a Renault Megane and turn it into a touring car with similar performance as existing touring cars like the Audi S3, Chevrolet Cruze and Honda Civic. Another example would taking the TVR Sagaris and turn it into a GT3/GT4 car with similar performance to existing cars in the game.

This would widen the car pool without, I assume, having to get licenses for existing and non-excisting race cars.

The upgrade package added in my opinion should include:
A reduction in weight more extensive than the current option.
Ar oll cage.
Bigger and better brakes.
Upgraded suspension components
A new gearbox and driveline relevant to the group the car is being added to. An example would be a manual car getting a sequential gearbox or a 4WD car would be turned into a FWD or RWD.
The engine will have to me modified or swapped to fit the group of cars it would be paired with. An example here would be a 6 cylinder BMW 2 series getting a 4 cylinder engine to be more inline with most current touring car series.
Lastly body modifications like wider arches to increase the size of tires able to fit on the car as well as the track width of the car. As well as the addition of splitters, diffusors and spoliers to increase downforce to bring it up to a similar standard to existing cars in the game it would compete against.

Personally I’d like these packages to only affect cars that would realisticly be able to be added to certain series. So touring car packages would only be available for hatchbacks and small/mid size saloons. GT packages to sports/supercars etc.

This idea can be taken as far as the imagination will go. You could for example create rally/rallycross packages or Dakar/trophy truck packages which would fit nicely into the world of FH5. Other ideas could be turning older cars into classic racers.

As a regular racer in online leagues, more so with touring cars than anything else, I’d love to see a wider range of cars than the current bunch we have now which have been in the games since FM6. Adding packages that would turn a normal car into a competetive touring car or GT car etc. would increase the variety of cars available to use and most likely spawn some seriously cool creations that maybe never would have existed otherwise.

the modifications in nfs shift 2 were amazing, having a WORKS option would be great, also able to change the cockpit to a stripped out car with just a motec dash was pretty neat

Shift and shift 2 were great games. Some of the better racers I’ve played tbh. I’d put them up there with Motorsport 3 and 4. Gran Turismo 3 and 4. And midnight club dub edition

It’s amazing to look back at SimBin Studios work and know they came out of the modding scene around EA’s F1 99-02. So many good titles (and failures), then the eventual split. Idea’s ahead of their time with the race conversion options in the Shift series.

All i need for the race car build is the rear diffusor which they should bring back to the game and was last seen in FM2.

it would be nice to have race car variant upgrades/bodykit for cars

for example :

upgrade the 1969 camaro to the 1969 camaro trans AM race car.

or the e46 m3 to the e46 m3 GTR race car

would be a welcome feature

I had hopes they do something like that, because something similar is possible in FH5 with the new Lancia Delta and Stratos.

NFS Shift 2 had the ability, to turn a Stock Vehicle into a Race Car with Aero and Interior Changes and Stuff. Maybe there is a similar Solution for Forza Motorsport (2023)

I spent a lot of time on the game but there are an improvement that I think it’s important to instert on a next upgrade … when i modify a car i do not want only more speed , i want to see a street car became a race car , no seat’s , digital indicator of the clutch , see a race clutch on the car , a race steering wheel, transform a car from a Classic to race .
Now I can make all the upgrade on the car but the visual on the cockpit it’s always the same .
Please improve this on the next upgrade’s.

Also for an immersive simulation if i can make all the modify on my garage where meccanics works on the engine , body ecc… this will be fantastic.
