[RACE] Foggy's Race Livery Paddock [Big Update Pg. 4]

Smart Foggy!

I’ll pick this up when i can get back on the box.

Cheers AB!

A quick little something to tide you over until my next proper paint as it may take a while longer. Not actually seen anyone do a paint for this car yet I don’t think! Enjoy folks.

a nice clean design Foggy, great work mate

Amen to this, very clean indeed. Minimalism suits this car as it’s quite minimalist itself. Good job mate.

Cheers fellas, means a lot! Next project started. It’s a biggy…

Love biggys! I can’t wait.

damn it! you’re gonna make me buy a Lexus and a Formula Ford lol :stuck_out_tongue:

great paints! the R8 is so cool ^^

Found your thread after looking on Google for the blue JGTC Countach, love the yellow one you have here and hope to see some more paints from you in the future.

Hello all! Or, what’s left of you…

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that I’ve not been around for a good few months. Several reasons involved - real life got in the way and work got pretty hectic, but to be honest that isn’t even the main thing. In the free time I have had, I’ve not once felt inclined to fire up Forza. I’ve been playing since the release of FM2 and the series has long been my favourite, no questions asked. Sadly however the decisions made in the last two titles have led to my interest decreasing fairly rapidly. I still love the FM series, I still want to be a part of the community, but to be honest I’ve been struggling.

Painting, particularly Race and Replicas, has been one of my favourite parts of the games over the years despite the fact that it’s taken until FM6 to really get stuck in myself. The Storefront was probably my favourite feature of FM3 and 4 and I’d spend hours collecting my favourite replicas and racing them online. The removal of the Storefront, and not forgetting the gift feature and the Auction House, has IMO destroyed the community from the inside. The names that inspired me to start and that I used to follow back in the day have all but disappeared with only a select few remaining (I’m looking at you, AB and PTG and VXR crews!). Tuning Garages are all but impossible. Forza has unfortunately started to become a somewhat blank and soulless franchise.

I’ve been racing a lot on PC recently and with today bringing the news of an FM6 Win10 demo in the shape of FM6 Apex, who knows what the future may hold and maybe we’ll see FM7 make the jump to the platform full scale. This however may mean it could be possible to create liveries in a third party programme and import them in which yes, would be great technologically, however would more or less end up killing the community even further. There’s little skill involved in creating liveries using a PC as apposed to the controller method we know and love. Just a thought.

This is in no way, shape or form a rant and is not aimed at anyone in particular, but I just thought I’d share my thoughts and explain why I haven’t been around and why my contribution suddenly dropped. I still take a good interest in what’s going on in the community and I check the news section of the site every single day just as I have for the last eight years but to be honest I feel I have no incentive to actually play, which is a real shame.

I’d like to thank all the people that showed interest in my paints and spurred me on, who knows, there may be a couple more in the pipeline in the (probably fairly distant) future. I’d also like to thank everyone who’s helped me over the years be it with driving skill or other aspects of the game, and I’d like to thank all the groups that I’ve raced and had fun with too. You’re all stars and I’ve had more fun playing Forza games than any other but for now I’m putting down the controller.

Cheers for reading,
Foggy. (Formerly Drunknmunkee12, Meowingtonsz. Ring any bells? )

I hear you Foggy, and agree completely. (What FM6 Apex is i have no idea) T10 have been very distant for a long time but whatever is happening in the ivory tower but Forza;s beating heart is wavering for sure. :frowning: I’m doing my best to try to stick with Forza but its losing its grip on me like id never thought it would.
Hope to see you around but take care sir!

i’ve been in and out of the paint booth myself, but i really know what you’re saying, the lack of community ‘fibe’ is getting huge… hoping t10 has something in the works to get ‘it’ back…

Sadly I think T10 have lost interest in the community they started and are more interested in commercial partnerships, largely down to the push from Microsoft I imagine. It’s a real shame, damn I loved this series.

I feel like I ought to comment in here. I am in a similar boat however due to Porsches coming back and my school schedule freeing up in the spring time I might be coming back. That being said I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of the situation. It’s going to be sad to lose you although I can’t really talk as I have pretty much been lost as of late myself.

I must say that I will look forward to your (distant future) pipeline projects as admittedly you are one of my favorite painters here. Your designs have always been clean, crisp and on the ball. I still make sure to stretch your Countach’s legs on the off chance that I fire up Forza. I wish that the community was the focal point like it once was but times have changed I think. Social media killed the forums, now much of the action is on various Twitter pages (When it comes to using Twtter I am totally clueless). Either way it’s been a good run and I hope that you return in the nearer future than you anticipate.

PS: I have also been toying with the idea of the PC as a platform for my racing whims, the amount of vintage race cars that one can download for GT Legends, RFactor etc is stupendous! No more waiting for a DeTomaso Pantera.

Cheers, Ace

I too feel the same way, and it’s sad to see so many great painters are feeling this since these are the painters that inspired me to get better at painting. I’m starting to slow down, I don’t paint as fast as I used to. Totally see where you’re coming from Foggy and hope to see you knock out a few more paints!

Hi Foggy

I agree with all of the above as I have only just shown up for Forza 6 but it would seem the party is over already. The only thing we can do is paint because we want to paint (I am about to start my garage page soon).

Anyway, all doom and gloom aside, I just wanted to say what a fantastic collection of liveries you have painted here. You really have done some quality work. When I get back to my XBOX I am going to go an collect some paints for my currently naked cars.

Looking forward to what you do next.
