Hi, was just wondering what the record is for the Freeway Blast track? Ive seen a few low 1:41’s but maybe a few 1:40’s here and there, are there any lower than that?
does it matter what car you use (like a ultma instead of a bugatti)
No, but with a Bugatti SS or CCX-R you’re more likely to get the fastest times
Absolute fastest time i’ve seen in r1 is 1:38, wallride in a bugatti veyron
my fastest times:
- clean: 1:39.978
- wallride: 1:39.002
Nice, how do they get that quick with a veyron? Cos with a CCX-R you dont have to brake on that big turn on the freeway
There are a couple of factors to run 1:39’s or 1:38’s if you are very lucky:
- You need a 989 Veyron (rally springs and no aero upgrades)
- You have to use manual without clutch and no traction control, this will cut around 0.2-0.3 seconds off of your time.
- You have to use simulation steering to get your car around the left turn coming off the bridge.
- For the s turn there are two ways of getting around by wall riding:
- there is a notch in the right fence just after the 2nd dirt road, drive into it and it should push your car left into s turn, people do this a lot in the R3 freeway blast rivals. Then just ride the left fence around the turn. Make sure you cut across the dirt coming out of the turn, so your car doesn’t go wide and risk hitting the fence on the right, this could save up to 0.1 of a second.
- you can break coming into the turn but only break so that the rear wing doesn’t start tilting and then just ride the fence as in (1).
(2) is generally a more consistent way than (1) but is slightly slower. Wall riding is really inconsistent in the Veyron due to the simulation steering needed and will more often than not spin you out.
If you just want to go for times then you may consider this but generally I try to avoid it as I don’t get as much XP by doing so.
