Question about the Racing League

Good morning guys.

Long time Forza player, first time forum user.

Recently, I got a week off of work, and I decided to finally sit down and dedicate time to Forza 5, which impressed me since the day I finally got my Xbox One. However, between work and my kids I didn’t have much time.

Anyhow, I bought a C6R and the Mazda 787.

I was excited to recreate some thrilling and realistic looking Le Mans races… I couldn’t wait to see all those cars on the track in the Racing League’s Prototype and GT subleagues.

My race with the C6R was loading, and I couldn’t wait for it to start! When the race started, however, I noticed every single car, except mine, was painted in like a flat or matte blue, red, or black. I have no idea why, but I was really hoping to see all the GT race cars in their “manufacturer color,” which for each should be its realistic sponsored livery.

The same happened with the prototypes for me! I was so disappointed to see the historic 787 and Ferrari 333SP driving around as if each was just spray painted in matte black!

I had seen gameplay videos before I got my Xbox One, and I could swear I remember seeing Le Mans style races with all of these iconic cars in their correct liveries.

I bought the Audi prototype and the BMW 3-series to experiment, and their “base” colors are the correct ones. If I own them, they will appear correctly on the track. Every single other car, the AI cars, will always be flat and plain.

Majority of players run custom colors even if some are fairly plain looking. If your racing drivatars tge system loads random base coat colors for the majority. You should be able to set to default colors only in the race options tho so that drivatars are driving in colors you want. You can do the same in multiplayer lobbies but you have to make a private lobbie and invite your friend to it. Otherwise you wont have the game options to change those settings on other players.

Following your response, I went to check my options again. I did in fact have drivatar designs already turned off. I had turned them off when I first got the game to avoid seeing user-modified designs in my game and to see each car in its stock and default iteration.

I redid some other leagues just to experiment. Every other car in every other league shows up in a manufacturer color, which is just the way I want, perfect. However, all the Le Mans GT cars and Prototypes are the stubborn ones that refuse to show up in their “manufacturer color.” They keep showing up in those matte colors under “custom colors.”

To see what happens, I turned drivatar designs back on. With the other leagues, as I knew would happen, all the cars then started showing up in XLive user designs. Checking the Racing league right away, my AI cars then showed up wearing XLive user designs.

It seems that no matter what I do, even with that option you mention, I can’t get the AI cars in the Racing League to sport their “manufacturer” colors/liveries.

1. With the option on, they show up wearing XLive user designs, which some in my opinion are horrible desecrations of these race cars.

2. With the option off, they show up wearing plain, matte “custom” blues, blacks, and reds, which look really odd for a Le Mans race car.

Is there another option I’m overlooking? Is my game glitched? I know I have seen initial gameplay videos pre-release of Le Mans style race gameplay with all the cars on the field wearing their correct, “manufacturer” colors/liveries.

Any other workarounds, or are these my only two possible scenarios and that’s just how it is?

Well that should work then. I do know of that glitch on paint jobs tho cause my friend has that glitch on his cars. I have nvr seen it that bad tho. Normally its just one car glitching and not the entire lobby. All I can offer is try a hard system reset if you havent already to try and fix it.

Tried this last night! I performed a complete uninstall of game data and add-ons. I had forgotten how long the game install was. Wow, that was a long while.

It didn’t change anything.

Are you, or anybody else, willing to test this for me? Next time you play, can you take a moment to switch drivatar designs “off” and enter any race in the GT or Prototype Racing leagues? While there, please tell me if all the AI cars are in their correct manufacturer liveries or in plain, custom matte colors.

After the uninstall and reinstall, I’m nearly convinced everyone’s game might be like this, which really shouldn’t be… Or I’d like to rule out whether I have a bogus game disc or something.

the only time my game has the drivatars using solid colour paints is when i cant connect to the forza servers.

do you see a small leaderboard displayed at the pre-game race menu? if so then the drivatars should have custom paints
if no small leaderboard shows up then normally it means your not connecting to the forza servers and all the cars will be basic colours (sucks! especially in your situation where you want the default/race livery on the Race cars)

hope that sorta makes sense.
and best of luck, game definitely is much better visually to play with the custom paint jobs on all the cars.

I just checked, and the “mini leaderboard” does in fact show up.

I also double-checked all my options, and I have drivatar designs turned off, which means each car should appear in its manufacturer color.

I took a pic of what I see.

The Mazda does show up in its correct “manufacturer color” here because it’s my car that I’m racing. Every other car, however, appears in a plain blue, black, or grey.

This is so annoying!

Is there anything else I might be overlooking? Does this in fact NOT happen to you guys? Why is this happening to me?

If you guys select a Prototype offline race in the Racing League with Drivatar Designs off, do the AI cars show up in their correct liveries for you? Can anybody test this?

You’re right Refused, it would be so much better to see these beasts in their correct liveries, veritable historical HD fantasies! However, right now only my car looks normal and the others as if they have just been spraypainted! I could switch Drivatar Designs on, and they would have liveries. However, the liveries are all user designs, NOT the correct ones!

Any other clues I might be doing something wrongly?
