[PTG] [Race Originals & Replicas] WILDCAT DESIGNS *911 GT3 RSR Corbeau Seats livery added*

LaFerrari looks great and congrats - 250000 uses is amazing!

Thanks for the comments SR. Glad you like the Centenario … it’s one of my favorites too.

Appreciate it very much FireProof. I do spend a lot of time trying to be as accurate as possible … and it feels good to know that someone notices.

Thanks NeonPiG. That number kinda blows me away a bit. It’s not something I expected to be honest.

Back in the paint booth after a little while. I’ve been busy with real life recently … but am still around. Hope you guys enjoy this one …

This next paint is a port from FH2. I did tweak a couple of things that I thought needed a little upgrade. This thing is an absolute scream to drive … and if you need a good tune for it … make sure you check out PTG Jamie’s tunes. He’s one of the best tuners around. PTG Jamie’s Tunes

These are really great liveries, Wildcat.

I notice you often give a list of items to get the exact visual match, I’m curious as to why you don’t provide a matching tune (which would hold all the visual elements as well as the engine tune etc.) - this isn’t intended as a criticism, I was just wondering if there was some disadvantage to doing this as I’ve done so on some of mine.

There’s no disadvantage. PTG has some amazingly skilled tuners (PTG Brains, PTG Jamie, PTG Ducky, PTG Warlock) , who work closely with our painters, like Wildcat, to produce the right tune for the right paint.

Wildcat, sorry I don’t stop by here more often, but your work is good enough that it should be used as a bench mark standard on how to paint a race livery. Bravo.

Appreciate it Stu. Thanks for coming by. That’s high praise coming from one of the best …

Rally … really appreciate the comments. I see that PTG Stuzib85 stopped by to explain a bit about how we put together tunes and paints at PTG. To be honest, I’ve never really taken the time to learn how to tune cars … I’m primarily a painter. I could try to tune some … but it would probably go left when you turned right … lol.

And I have the PTG tuners to take care of all my tuning needs.

Thanks again for the comments. Glad you like the work and hope you enjoy a couple out in Horizon …

Some great original ideas, designs, and each paint are very well executed.

Thanks for the explanation, a real team effort.

Thanks Wildcat, as my liveries are mostly replicas, my tunes are just to try to get a reasonably close match to the original vehicle, although I do make some effort to make the livery work tidily with and without aero variations. Easy enough with rally replicas but I suspect a lot harder with some of the more extreme body kits.

I shall have to grab some of your liveries and try out some of the variety of tunes you guys produce. Mind you I find I’m spending much more time on livery design than on driving! It’s fairly addictive, as you probably well know!

Over at PTG, we’ve been working on a little surprise for everyone. PTG Jamie and I have collaborated on a 959 replica project. And we’ve chosen the Rothmans liveries to recreate. To go along with the paints, Jamie has built some wonderful rally and race tunes to go with the cars. Make sure you grab Jamie’s tunes as well.

This racing car had a very short racing career … but did have a couple of historic wins. The paint in this post is for the rally version that ran in the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1986. The first fully-equipped 959 rally variant made its racing debut in the 1985 Paris-Dakar Rally. It did not finish that year but the 959 returned next year and won the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally under driver René Metge.

This racing car had a very short racing career … but did have a couple of historic wins. The paint in this post is for the race version that ran at Le Mans in 1986. René Metge piloted the 959 circuit racing variant (961) to an impressive 1st in class and 7th overall finish … in the car’s debut in circuit racing.

Nice work buddy!

Appreciate it J.

And another drift paint is done. This time a replica of Forrest Wang’s Formula Drift car. Always liked this livery and figured it was time to take a swing at it.
