PS5 controller settings please help

A couple of days ago I set up a PS5 gamepad on my computer, please share screenshots of your settings (dead zones, etc. all those sliders). Before that, I played for 20 years on a keyboard… and everything worked great, but now with the joystick I am really disheartened… I played for about 3 hours and not once did I come in first in multiplayer! What frustrates me the most is the brakes! With the keyboard, it’s simple… you slow down and everything is fine… here, when I try to brake, I lose so much speed and I’m constantly getting overtaken.I know it’s a matter of practice… but still… share your settings screenshots.

Not the answer of what you are asking for, just a comment.
Also not meant to upset or insult you, but a PS5 controller for FH5 (on PC) is a poor choice (at least at the moment). As far as I know there is no support for adaptive triggers, and that is probably the reason you are struggeling so much.
Most (or at least a lot of) controllers have rumblers in the trigger-buttons. FH5 uses them to indicate if your wheel starts to lock up while breaking, or loose grip while accelerating. This gives you a natural feel on how much you should push the trigger.
You’ll eventually get a hang of it without the vibrations but it likely takes longer. I switched to a controller without rumblers, but better joysticks. Most of the time I still can control cars but the missing indications make it harder.
Now to your question, it’s rather general advice, but set the dead zones as low as you can without getting any inputs.

Small edit: There is a topic in the suggestion hub for supporting adaptive triggers.

For checking deadzones you can use the in game telemetry. It shows the brake, accel and steering input. I don’t feel changing the deadzones makes much difference but it’s good to see what’s going on.

Another suggestion if you aren’t already doing it. Without vibration on, the abs indicator can be a visual cue for modulating the brakes. It’s difficult but better than nothing. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the extended answer, now I’m really thinking about buying an XboX gamepad.

I think you will try ds4 for windows software for PS controller. It is usefull for it. But Xbox controller is the best choice.

Well, if you consinder buying a controller for it I would at least consinder other options.
Even if I have to say the rumble in the triggers was the best on an old xbox controller for me (xbox one era). But that can also depend on the xbox controller, I got a newer one and its’ rumble was a lot weaker. (maybe I just missed the settings to configure it, haven’t used it for long :man_shrugging:)
As for other controllers I had over the time, the Flydigi vader 3 pro had a rather weak rumble in the trigger buttons and the layout can be a little cramped if you have big hands, but the joysticks felt a lot better than the ones on xbox contollers.
I haven’t tried the newer version (vader 4) but it shouldn’t be far off an xbox contoller + wireless adapter bundle in price. So I would consider that if I were you. (After getting more information and opinions on it of course. I think it still has rumble, but I don’t know for sure.)
Currently I use an Apex 4, but I wouln’t recommend it for Forza as much, as it has adaptive triggers, like your ps5 controller. (personally I still prefere it over an xbox controller due to the joysticks, but at that price it’s a little disappointing. Flydigi even has a mod that tries to translate the rumble for the triggers. BUT MODS can get you BANNED,… so I haven’t tried it.)
Edit: just realised you don’t need the adapter on newer xbox controllers, so it’s the cheapest out of the ones I mentioned.
