Porsche 959 ‘87 - Inaccurate and Deformed Car Model

Similar to the 1982 911 Turbo 3.3 and the 1973 911 Carrera RS - the 1987 Porsche 959 is another Porsche car model that is in desperate need of a complete makeover.

This particular Porsche has been in use since the original FORZA Motorsport (FM1), just like the other two aforementioned models and it so really evident, despite the upgrades in texture quality.

It becomes even more evident when observing significantly better model of the 959 model in Gran Turismo 7 - which has the best accuracy and quality of the 959.

It’s a shame for such a legendary retro super car in FORZA. There are a few glaring flaws that give away the inaccuracies of the Porsche 959 in FORZA.

  1. The front nose and the front end is wildly inaccurate. It has a much taller and boxier shape than the IRL car. The front bumper is inaccurately tall and boxy in shape and height (observe the lower middle vents and compare them to the actual car)

  2. The shape for the front fenders are incorrect and do not match the angle, curvature and slimness of the actual car.

  3. The car’s roof is strangely off in length and height , giving the car a compressed/squashed look. This leads to the resulting inaccurate side windows in shape, height and length.

  4. The wheelbase is completely off and greatly contributes to the dwarfed/stunted growth look of the FORZA model. It is unusually short in length, the space between the front and rear wheels and the strange width of it.

  5. The shape and curvature of the rear fenders and the rear end is inaccurate. The taillights are shorter than the IRL car. The rear bumper vents are not correctly aligned with the angled end of the taillights. They are farther than the actual car.

  6. Lastly. the 959 wheels are poorly aligned to the bodywork, the inaccurate wheelbase also contributes to the problem.

Just like 911 3.3 Turbo - requesting to fully discard, rescan and remodel the 1987 Porsche 959, the legendary retro supercar killer.
