1987 Pontiac Tojan
This was GM’s answer to the Supercar Scene. And for $25,000 GM made that possible with a 800 horsepower Twin Turbo v8 engine and a Top Speed of 208mph. Options included a wing or even a convertible. Around 150 were made.
The 800 horsepower version was the prototype that convinced GM to make these, and later cheaped out to put basic 305’s and 350’s in them. And then offered a supercharger to only halved the original prototype’s horsepower at 400. It was a disappointment to customers.
