Instead of spending all the credits buying 300k packs… buy 50k packs instead, which is how I got the mods, you then get 6 chances of getting them instead of one when spending 300k.
Its not about “finishing” the game in a week or two, and neither is it about adapting a more patient stance, but about the fact that many people cant get the required luck based “super rare” dare mods even after having spent 20-30 million credits. I have spent 30+m credits just on packs (90% on the most expensive ones) and just cant get the back of the pack dare mod. I have around 50 dare mods, with around 7 super rares, out of which I have had many, many duplicates, but not that last one. In a racing game you should spend credits on cars and not on required mods. I totally agree that they should do something about it. Just like Honusdan I would rather pay 10,000,000 credits to get a super rare mod (in my case back of the pack), than gamble my remaining 10,000,000 credits hoping that I will be lucky.
Didn’t see there was a specific thread for this until now. Hope some of you guys have gotten those stupid mods by now. How much did you end up spending? I’ve managed to stop myself just short of 10 Million and am still missing Manual and Back of the Pack. Sometimes I wonder how this randomness is implemented, and whether it relies on anything on your particular hardware. Who knows, maybe some of us are never meant to get it.
I have to agree. The achievement should be for completing the task the mod requires, not for playing slot machines until you get it in the first place.
Stupid question, but when you activate a mod, let’s say “cockpit view, 20% bonus credit for meeting requirements”. Where do you find those requirements? I’ve never figured out how. lol
I just randomly achieve them by luck!
I thought you just got the 20% extra just for using the dare mod…since you are set in cockpit view and it cant be changed while that mod is active. .isnt driving in cockpit view the requirement
Maybe I remember wrong, but I’m sure I had some stuff ups, completed the race, and didn’t get any bonus. Guess it’s easy enough to test out. Do two races with a mod, come 3rd in one, 4th in the other.
Please create a new super rare mod that will allow players to boost the Through The Pack achievement in a private lobby by themselves and then introduce microtransactions to purchase mod packs. The resultant revenue can then be used to underwrite the cost of free DLC for the rest of us that aren’t so impatient or lack impulse control.
Who knows, maybe introducing microtransactions so people could buy mod packs was the plan all along. People are different, some people don’t care about achievements, others do. Out of the ones who do, some are happy to do achievements here and there, others want to get them out of the way first. Some people even seem to be unable to enjoy the game before they’ve gotten all the chores out of the way, including all the achievements.
To take my example, I’m quite content doing achievements here and there, there are quite a few I haven’t done, I haven’t even bought the Ford GT yet. I don’t really care all that much about the Trough The Pack achievement either, at least not enough to join a boosting session, yet, I am extremely annoyed by those three mod achievements. I don’t care much for mods in the first place, and to see that people spend tens of millions on mod packs irritates me greatly. This should NOT be part of a racing game, and I, for one, do not blame the players.
Fair enough, some people do. They’d prefer it if people were a little more patient. But how much patience exactly would we expect? There are players who’ve bought in excess of a hundred mod packs and they still don’t have the necessary mods. How many mod packs exactly do we require in order to grant someone the entitlement of being annoyed by this? Some of you really should count yourselves lucky for being so patient, I surely am not.
“If you see someone posting about a negative experience they’re having with the game and you can offer advice that helps them, that’s perfect and precisely the sort of thing we like to see on the forums. If all you have to offer is telling them they’re doing it wrong or don’t know what they’re talking about, that’s not helping anyone at all.”
Yet, here you are, mocking these people. Good one.
So here’s my advice, no one needs these cards and their affiliated achievements today. Or tomorrow. Or by the end of the week, Or even ever when it comes down to it. If you’re not having any luck and you feel like you’re being bled dry trying, please stop buying the packs. Take a breath and get some perspective. It’s just not worth getting one’s self worked up over and ruining your own enjoyment chasing down some self-imposed requirement. The cards will come eventually if you keep trying but you don’t have to break the bank trying today.
That is really good advice, no doubt. I myself understand how difficult it may be for some to follow this advice, but it is really good advice nevertheless.
This little snippet on the other hand… spreading this out over time doesn’t really make a difference. Who knows, maybe the order in which you get what mods was determined when you started the game. It’s quite possible this was seeded at the start of the game, in which case it doesn’t really matter when you do it. How are we even to know that it was ensured that you could get all the mods? There have been some bugs, have the developers thought about ensuring that all mods can be gotten? Really, who knows, maybe they simply relied on some random generator to provide, in which case everything is possible, even that it is not true that those cards will come eventually. I’ve stopped because I’ve thought about this, and I simply don’t want to risk it. But that’s me. There’s a reason I don’t like this luck business.
I have long shot and perfectionist, I’ll trade them both for a back of the pack. Wait, I can’t do that. I can only sell a super rare mod card for 3000 credits when it cost me what, 50,000 credits if I got it from a 300k credit pack (I honestly don’t know how many cards are in a pack even though I’ve spent millions on packs). The sell values of mod cards sucks. Especially with all the cards that when you get a duplicate of it it is just garbage. I don’t give a … about an auction house for cars, give us the ability to trade or auction mod cards!
I don’t see the inability to get the back of the pack mod as an issue of patience. I rarely get mod packs from prize spins, at the point I am most of my price spins are an amount of credits under 100,000. I am unlikely to be awarded with a super rare mod car simply by being patient and getting mod packs through prize spins. Therefore, I have to spend credits to get the mod. Myself and many others have blown huge amounts of credits on mod packs and still don’t have the Back of the Pack card. Many of us have the Long Shot card which should absolutely trigger the same achievement as it actually makes winning MORE difficult. Blowing huge amounts of credits on mods trying to get this card is extremely frustrating. Especially when mods we don’t want or get duplicates of can only be sold for ~5% of their value based on the cost of getting them.
Why? Isn’t buying mod packs for 10 Million not as fun as buying cars? I gambled 12 Mio away and I already have ONE card. If that is no fun, I don’t know what fun is. Think about the longevity. When everyone has moved on to Forza 32, you are still stuck at 6 trying to get the right card. Such a great and loveable idea.

the game has only been out 1 month, do you really only want it to last 1 month? and thats for people that paid $100 for it. if i paid that much for a game and it was over that fast i would be upset, like i didn’t get my moneys worth. it would probably be the last game i buy from them. came close to not buying 5 after essentials. still haven’t picked up 6. if its going to be over in a month or two i’ll pick up fallout instead or halo. if you are playing achievments rather than the games you are working games not playing them. you are stealing the fun from yourself.
