Yeah, same here; my laptop has all the requirements to run this game, and i was really enjoing playing it…than the CTD started to happen, rom 2 in 10 minutes to 10 in 1 hour…It really sucks.
Please, make a patch asap, we’ve all spent money to get the preorder or else, we’d like to get what we paid for. Thanks.
I think we can try to get a refund on this and just re-buy when it is fixed, I had this happen with another game that wasn’t working on launch and they credited back to my account.
I am going to go this route, because I paid to play early, and it is not delivering…known memory leak is a little ridiculous IMO…
Yep, hopefully this week’s patch will fix those nasty memory leaks and crashes.
I only had one crash midrace so far, but I can’t tell how many times the game already crashed in the upgrade and paint/decal menus for me. I can barely spend 5 minutes in them without getting a crash.
And then there’s still the chance of getting stuck in the infinite saving loop…
If this game was on Steam, it would’ve been pulled down in a heartbeat. Unacceptable that a AAA title from a AAA company is so far beyond broken and unfinished upon release. To dare and charge full price, or almost twice for an Ultimate Edition of this Early Beta is downright insulting.
And that’s without counting the whole VIP thing and the restrictive mess that the career mode is now.
Yeah, its October 11 and the CTD’s are still rampant on PC. There was a patch yesterday that was supposed to iron those out, so I finally tried the extra long setting on the Spa Endurance race. I was on lap 59 out of 69 and the game just decides its done playing tonight. Almost two and a half hours completely wasted. My friends say the Xbox version is much more stable, so I’m going to retry it tomorrow night and hopefully this won’t happen again. I’m setting down the PC version until there is some real work done on the memory leak and thread utilization. Are we pretty sure it’s the memory leak causing the issues? I never opened up any customization menus for upgrades or paints, which are usually the culprits for not freeing the RAM, but I guess 59 laps can chew through some RAM too.
Same issues here, and they seem to be getting worse. Before it was just crashing in menus, now it is mid-race as well. BS. Very disappointed. Hopefully the get this fixed soon, as I have played too many hours to get a refund, which I believe is warranted at this point, especially when you factor in all of the multiplayer content that we hoped would be there but isn’t.
I second Tony’s point about the credits. I think it depends on when it crashes as loading the rewards. A second either way and there will either be a reward notice for at least the car offer or 50’000 or you get nothing. I love the game and concept even enjoy the stock standard cars in different classes but can’t make ground on the Champs because of each round if it is 6 races then tends to be 8-10. Just wasted another 8 laps of Nuri in free play loaded up with Mods and BMW FE to make up some CR. The game is barely usable I decided to just try to short race in free and forget the champs because I would have to be a total idiot to attempt Sebring and Le Mans after the first 2 endurance fiasco for Seeker and Breakout. Even the paint design disappeared of my cars after a crash.
On my PC Forza is still crashing during the race or after the race. I’ve checked Event Logs in Event Viewer and there is no any application error or warning. But I’ve noticed one thing… At the same time, when game crashes, Event log shows “Xbox Live game save service” changing startup type (auto start to demand start). Can You please check if you guys have the same issue, the same event log when game crashes? Maybe that “Xbox Live game save service” is causing that game crashes…
Put me down as another person who experience repeated crashes whilst in the menus. Building a car has become like a grim death march, where every minute may be my last before I have to (once again) restart the game and see how far I get into the car build before I (once again) find myself staring at my desktop, wondering if this is the game I’ve been waiting so many years to play on my desktop.
