When loading up a track in FREEPLAY (any track) and setting the car divisions to “any” (so that you can test drive ANY car in your collection) there is bug that is happening when switching cars to test drive another car, for example, going from a Holden Sandman - to - F&F Dodge Demon.
To paint the picture. I start my test drive on the the track (like I said, ANY track, but lets say Top Gear test track for this example, any ribbon), with my race settings at:

Go to test drive, drive around a bit, all fine. Now, I want to select and switch to my Dodge Demon to to some drifting or some tuning, so, I “exit” testdrive mode, it bumps me back to the “freeplay/race info” screen with my car/driver in the background like normal. I go to “setup > select car” to change to my Dodge Demon…ah, wait, hang on…I can only select my Holden Sandman OR the “Limo” Caddy, with the other 2 options being “rent car” or “buy car” where have all my cars gone?!
So I check the “race setup” section, all the above settings are the same…no problems, so what is going on? I back out, go to “select car” menu…once again, only able to select my sandman/limo but the SETTINGS on RACE SETUP are the above “ANY” for the division settings…so what’s going on? It looks like the game has division locked my cars when i haven’t changed any settings?
I go into the “race setup” yet again, fiddle around a bit, set the settings exactly back to how they are above, “confirm” by pressing A/Enter, go to select car…VIOLA everything appears again.
So what happened?
From what I can tell, this bug is happening when you go straight into a test drive, start it up, THEN when you EXIT test drive mode…the black screen that appears comes up with the bottom text on the bottom right saying “restarting” which makes me think…during this process, the game is NOT remembering my setting of “ANY Car Division” and is fact assuming, my car division is the “Forza Specials” (because i selected the Sandman which is a “Forza Special” division car) just because i was driving this division car at the time.
What this means, is i have go BACK into race setup, confirm, back out, select car, pick a car and all is available again. To switch cars, you have to back out of test drive, go to race setup, confirm the settings again FIRST, back out, go to select car, then and ONLY then, will you see access to all of your cars.
On top of the none bug related game feature of the removal of test drive from upgrades menu/tuning menu, this seems to be a loading bug related to NOT remembering the settings properly which can be very annoying and time wasting having to remember to confirm the settings. Why allow a select car feature if we have to first re-confirm our division as “any” in freeplay race setup settings to make the game re-remember our settings to select any car?
Hopefully…this is an easy bug to fix.
