Opinions on Car List and Track List

Ok, just for the record, depending on who you talk to, even Greece (rarely. Source: Middle East | History, Map, Countries, & Facts | Britannica) is sometimes referred to has part of the “Middle East”**, has are parts of northeast Africa. At times, some parts of the region are also referred to has the “Near East”. (The U.S. State Department, for example, sometimes uses the term Near East.) Countries, including those of the Middle East, that are officially located in/on Asia are has follows:

Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, China, East Timor, Hong Kong (territory), India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Macau (territory), Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian (territories), Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen

Source: Asia Map / Map of Asia - Maps, Facts and Geography of Asia - Worldatlas.com

Now then, hopefully that puts the “what is Asia?”, and “where is the Middle East?” issue to rest once and for all, lol.

Has for your previous question of what people here are referring to has “Asian” tracks, they tend to be referring to a specific region of Asia, known in some circles has the “Far East”. (This is the region that contains countries like: Japan, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Taiwan, South Korea, North Korea, Mongolia, etc. just to be clear.)

Because most people in this thread are all usually thinking of the same Far East region of Asia in their own minds, when they speak of needing certain tracks from past games, and tracks that host certain popular race series, the fact that they are not specifically defining what exact part of Asia they are talking about is not a problem 98% of the time. It’s pretty much assumed that people are talking about the countries of the Far East, (and most commonly the region comprising the area right around roughly Japan and China).

So yeah, Yaz is in Asia. It’s technically an Asian track. It just doesn’t happen to be in the region of Asia that the majority are referring to here, and most of the time, when people say they want more Asian tracks, it’s pretty safe to bet they are not referring to the Middle East.*** If you see people asking for Asian tracks, just assume they mean from the Far East, unless they make statements that would suggest otherwise.

-Legal fine print:

**Not to be confused with saying, “Greece is in Asia”.
***Not to be confused with accusing, implying, waxing lyrical, theorizing, testifying, harmonizing, or otherwise conveying the notion of people not knowing, pretending, or otherwise maliciously denying that Asia comprises numerous countries other than those pertaining to the select few Asian tracks repeatedly mentioned on these boards.

The carlist is shaping up nicely, the tracklist on the other hand is too unbalanced for my taste, Forza have a great history of fictional tracks and most of those are missing in Forza 6 which is a bad thing in my opinion, I would like to see the return of those. Forza 4 had a better track selection for me.

Things I learned from this thread:

  • Yas Marina is on its separate continent
  • Greece is in Asia
  • When people mention Asia on this forum they are really only talking about 6 or 7 countries and pretending the other 40 don’t exist

I wonder if you learned the word ‘Pedantic’ while you were at it.

This game is going to be awesome. I’m really surprised that ANY game developer can put 24 people on a track at once, with rain, at 1080p and 60fps. I usually don’t care how fast the game runs or how good it’s graphics are, but wow, this is really stunning. Great job by T10! I made a huge post complaining about the problems with the 360 version of Horizon 2 (not the XB1 version), and then I realized, it’s time to move on. I’m either going to get and XB1 very soon, or get the Forza 6 XB1 limited edition that comes with Forza 6 and other goodies  This game just honestly just stuns me.

That being said, they even managed 26 real-life tracks, 450+ cars with 7 car DLC’s, Career, Free Play, Rivals, Multiplayer, Leagues, AND something to test drive the new cars. Porsche is confirmed coming in 2016 (I usually don’t get DLC’s, but if there’s a lot of my favorite cars in here, I’m getting it), ALL cars with autovista, around 12-14 LMP cars mentioned, German Touring Cars, BTCC, F1, and even Indy cars coming into this game. That’s crazy.

There’s still going to be that group of people that complain there’s no Silvia S14, no Auction House, or no Maple Valley, Fujimi, etc. If you’re going to complain that those are not in Forza 6, then you’re not a true gearhead nerd of cars like a lot of us, and look at the track list! Stop complaining and you’re going to have better tracks to drift on! Overall, this game is just utterly amazing.

I seriously like this post. You seem relevant. But yeah, it’s very difficult to please someone.

Anyway, I’m curious about this week’s Forza Garage. I wonder what’s it going to be? Japanese theme perhaps?

^Agreed, unfortunately it’s hard to please everyone -__-

When one of the most significant regions in the automotive world has no tracks to represent it, it’s hard to beleive that Turn 10 are interested in pleasing everyone anymore. :stuck_out_tongue:

There may more to the story than trying to please a demographic group. Else, why have Bathurst or Yas? I’m sure the US + European crowd far exceeds players in those countries.

It’s well known that Japanese tracks were some of the fan favorites.

Impossible, in fact.

There’s still time for people’s ‘favourite’ cars to be announced as we have maybe 2 or 3 garage reveals left. The S14, FC RX-7, MK3 Supra and the Lexus SC300 (among others) have been requested by fans since FM5 I believe, so there’s definitely a chance that they’re in the game.

I like my Japanese cars as much as the Euro saloons and hatches, but I’d rather see some new to the series Japanese cars if im honest. I know for sure that the cars mentioned above will return at some point along with all the other significant cars from the 360 era.

on vacation so haven’t had time to update with new fm garage

I like how much larger the car list is for Forza 6. However, I am disappointed in the track list, to an extent. I feel like the drifting community is being discriminated against because there are no drift tracks on the confirmed track list. Many drifting locations have been removed, including the following:

Fujimi Kaido
Mugello
Suzuka
Tsukuba
Sidewinder
Maple Valley

Also, some of my favorite circuit racing tracks are missing:

Camino Viejo de Montserrat
Twin Ring Motegi
New York Times Square
Sedona

Don’t get me wrong, I think it is going to be a good game. However, it won’t be a great game, unless Turn 10 adds a few tracks for the drifting community. In my opinion, if Forza Motorsport is a celebration of car culture, why does it feel like they are alienating part of it by denying the drifting community a few good drift tracks?

I am speaking for all of us drifters. Us drifters are a being discriminated. I say this because, we have no Japanese tracks. Not enough of our drift cars like the S14 Silvia, FC RX-7, SC300 and the MK3 Supra that all got excluded after Forza Motorsport 4 and especially our body kits especially for the 350Z. I am sure FM6 will be great and hoping for some Japanese Tracks in DLC, but we will really be sad to see them not come back after Japan is one of the biggest series of motorsport. I am happy that we have Somoma back, but if they sticky grass our drift sections on there and on Road Atlanta like Forza 5 we will be very disappointed. It is a Formula Drift layout. We are begging for Turn 10 to shed some light on us drifters like the past Forzas.

ahem. Track wish list Ahem.

To me it sounds like he was just giving proof for his opinion that the drifting community is being discriminated against. Nowhere in there did it say, “I would like to have these tracks in Forza 6, etc.”
So, I would not say that it is a post for the wish list, only justification for his opinion. I read word for word, not make inaccurate assumptions.

I wouldn’t bother arguing over the specifics of what is or isn’t a wishlist. Its deliberately vague to give moderators more power to lock threads.

And if you cared to look you would see they didn’t. They simply responded.
