Welcome to the official weekly Forza Horizon 5 Livery Competition! This competition is open to all players.
This week is open to all design types.
This week’s deadline is 2023-04-07T03:00:00Z (Thursday night Pacific time).
Judging will be done by Forza staff and winners will be announced on Thursday, April 13th.
HOW TO ENTER
Use the Apply Vinyls & Decals menu in Forza Horizon 5 to create and Share a design in-game. We will consider all shared game liveries via one or both methods:
New designs: When saving your design, enter the current code words in the Description field. This week’s code word for the description is LivRev059. All designs with this Description will be found in search and considered.
Existing designs: Older or previously entered designs that do not come up in search will not be automatically considered entries; you must post them in this thread. You do not need to update the description in game. Be sure to include your gamertag and the Share Code of the design.
We encourage you to add photos of your design to this thread so others can see it, which will also help us show off the winners. An elevated 3/4 view of is usually best for showing off as much of the vehicle’s surfaces as possible in one shot, but feel free to focus on a specific section if it the centerpiece of your work. Also feel free to describe your inspiration or design process, as well as link to a gallery thread of your other work.
While you can nominate a friend’s work for consideration, if selected they must communicate their approval to be Featured or not.
RULES
You may submit no more than three designs per week, with these caveats:
Only one design per person will be eligible for selection among the five winners.
Winning users from Week 058 are ineligible for selection among the five winners.
You may not submit entries with multiple gamertag accounts.
Users who share an excessive number of designs in a single week will be ineligible for the current week and the following week.
All submissions and comments must adhere to Forza Enforcement Guidelines - Note: We have a stricter standard of appropriateness for content to be featured on Forza channels - we cannot declare winning entries that include: phone numbers (real or fictional); alcohol brands; license plates with lettering that can be perceived as inappropriate; or entries from inappropriate gamertags, regardless of in-game enforcement status.
Note: We are continuing to look into third-party tools used to create liveries in Forza Horizon 5. However, in the meantime, users who are found to use livery import tools on their entries will be ineligible from being selected as weekly competition winners.
PRIZES
The five winning liveries are featured in game for six months.
The individual winners will receive a gift a car of the player’s choice, not including DLC or Accolade-only cars. Exclusives and Hard-to-Find cars can be chosen. Winners are required to DM me (T10ManteoMax) with their choice.
Your photo of your design may be shown during official Forza livestreams and potentially on other official Forza social channels.
This Beetle has quite a story behind it, one I’m not sure has really been told very often outside of the website I’ve found it in. One may wonder how someone can make a livery based off of one picture of a car, that is in black and white? Well it took a lot of studying, contacting people and companies. Australian VW paint codes aren’t well documented, and the owner of the car, Mark Forecast, died. Well, thankfully I got in contact with the right people and learned of it’s colors, then I had to find the colors to sample. It’s the most effort I’ve put into figuring out what a car looks like based off of one photograph, having contacted the Dulux Paint Group (Thanks!) And the ANARE group (Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition, Thanks to them SO MUCH for helping out.) And as a result, I was able to create this, the only Antarctic VW of which we have a general idea of where it is. I have also made Antarctica 1 through 3!
Turbonique was an aftermarket parts manufacturer, with a specialty in drag racing. They came up with a rocket drag axle, or a microthrust engine. I don’t know really what those mean myself but it sounds cool! The Black Widow was Turbonique’s official drag racing car, with a rocket powered motor in it capable of producint 1300hp to the rear wheels. It was capable of running a 9.36 Quarter Mile. It was eventually wrecked during a run, and VW took it upon themselves to turn it into an advertisement. I like to go around and remake VW’s that time may have normally forgotten about, or go by the wayside. So that’s my inspiration.
Emerson Fittipaldi in 1969 entered that years running of the Thousand Miles of Guanabara, a race where he would have to compete against Alfa Romeo P33’s, GT40’s, Lola T70’s, a Lorena-Porsche and some Pumas. What better car to race in Brazil than a VW Beetle? Now obviously the standard car even modified wouldn’t be enough, so Fittipaldi and other highly talented and regarded members took two boxer 4 cylinder engines and merged them together to make a 3.2L Flat Eight engine. Result was something that managed to place 3rd in qualifying only behind a P33 and a GT40. For the race, it lasted about an hour holding 3rd place until either the gearbox disintegrated, or a gasket disintegrated. The car is gone now, as it was sold and then dismantled.
(Due to the existence of a rear passenger window on the Beetle unlike the real car, I placed the sponsors just below it)
Here’s my take on the new Rimac Nevera. The car can be considered an imaginary Lemans car, featuring Lemans stickers on the sides, however it works prefectly fine as a regular racecar as well. The main sponsor is Bilstein, which allows the use of light blue and yellow, which makes this car stand out even more. Furthermore, a futuristic pattern can be found on the panel on both sides.
