The sedan featured the fuel-injected 110-126 hp (94 kW) and 108 pound-feet (146 N⋅m) 1.6-liter 16-valve 4-cylinder GA16DE engine. It came in the base model, E, XE, SE, and GXE. The GXE came with a power package such as power windows/locks/mirrors while the XE, SE, SE-R came with standard or optional sunroof and alloy wheels. In the United States, the four-door models came with front motorized shoulder seat belts, while the two-door models came with automatic front door-mounted 3-point seat belts....
The B13 was introduced in 1990 and retained much of the B12's design language and packaging but in a more rounded, up-to-date body. It was particularly successful in the United States where the sporting two-door Sentra SE-R was marketed by Nissan of America as a latter-day BMW 2002. The car continued in production in Mexico until 2017, where it was sold as "Tsuru", for domestic and export markets. The original R10 Presea was based on the B13 series Nissan Sunny platform, and replaced the Nissan Laurel Spirit. It continued to be a smaller companion to the Nissan Laurel of this time period, sharing much of the styling influences and attention to luxury in a smaller package.
