Need help tuning Porsche 918

Looking for a fast tune as mine suck

I have a few tunes for it. The turbo rally is nice for online games & the maxed tune will do 9 min laps of goliath easily.

One of my favourite cars. I have 6 S2 tunes in pairs with soft/hard rides. One pair with aero-kit, one with full grip/no aero-ki, one with maximum HP, minimum grip and no aero-kit

I don’t have an X tune because I only use X tunes for PR stunts and use other cars for such.

My tunes are generally all round solid handling because I’m usually not a top %1 driver. A faster driver can probably handle a more unstable package that could be faster but I have trouble with those tunes.

The 918 is great for speed zones if upgraded to X, just a suggestion.

I have the build and settings for one of my 918 Goliath tunes in my ajd Tune Werks topic just below this one. It should work everywhere but you can change it because you can build it and change the settings. I also have tunes on my storefront.

Look at post #22 in ajd Tune Werks for the 918 build and settings. Enjoy. The 918 is one of my favorite cars in Horizon 3.

Interesting… What difficulty settings do you use? My setup is a lot softer on the springs and roll-bars, but I prefer TCM because I’m not that great at drifting yet. I’m wondering, basically, what tunings to change if I’m going to teach myself to play without it. I’m also tuning a PI X-999 so maybe it’s all tires? Dat 1.5g @ 100mph… I don’t have a centenario yet, but the 918 is my only car besides the McLaren P1 that can drive most of the goliath circuit at full-throttle, and it has far more speed. Nothing in my garage looks as good either, IMO. I can’t get over those exhaust pipes.

I drive with all assists off and Normal steering, manual with clutch using xbox elite controller. The 918 has a lot of grip but you can easily over drive it. Try the 918 without TCM and enjoy. It is my favorite S2 class car even though I am faster in the Koenigsegg ONE:1 on Goliath. If you want a cheap fast car, try the Ferrari 458, 488 and 458 Special tuned for Goliath. They are a blast and you don’t need assists once you learn to drive without them. Your X Class 918 should have insane grip if you have it setup correctly.

TCM doesn’t slow you down if you use it correctly. Some of the fastest drivers use TCM. I choose not to use any assists and be on the edge of control. For me that is fun driving.

Try fine tuning the tire pressure for the 918. I had to go all the way down to 15 psi on the rear to keep it from getting too hot and loosing grip. I think this is the “over drive it” that you are referring to. At high speeds, the heat builds up in the rear tires much more quickly in that car than in other cars. I used to just leave TCS on because it was too bothersome worrying about weather I needed it or not. Now that I have discovered the heat tab in telemetry, I never use TCS.
