On top of this there’s no way to kick players from a convoy (ie: you make a public convoy and a troublemaker shows up), nor is there a way to vote-kick somebody out of Horizon Open for unsportsmanlike conduct (though the notion of that is odd in a game with no rules of race etiquette anyway).
They had the option to mute them in FH4 as I recall doing it when getting irked by people with open mics (at least I am sure I remember changing a setting in-game) so it should have been in FH5 from the start. However, I suspect this is a deliberate decision by PGG as they are really trying to push the social aspect of the game with the Forza Link and whatnot so they want everyone to be able to hear everyone else…I doubt they even consider that, to some, it is annoying
Again, just start a party with just yourself. I guarantee you will never hear anybody. I’ve been doing that for years. On PC start a party on the Xbox app.
I always use a party and that didn’t stop it for me or my buddy on PC. My buddy on Xbox had no problem.
I had to go into my xbox profile to change my settings there to stop it from happening.
I’m still a bit dubious as to whether others can still hear me when I’m in a private party as I only changed who can communicate with me, not who I can communicate with.
Whatever though, whilst in a “PRIVATE” party, it should remain just that yet it does not. It’s an invasion of privacy.
The communication privacy you are talking about is in regards to messages. Once in a party no one can hear you in the lobby or you hear them. No way someone with just a headset in the lobby can hear what’s going on in your party. It’s private and you can set the party invite only so no one can just join without an invite. If worried on a PC if you can be heard just disable the PC microphone.
Question for you guys, my xbox account settings are public for every option and yet all online races have every player is automatically muted. What else do I need to look at to change that?
That’s an ongoing issue with all Forza games.

Did they mute all players in the seasonal Trials and Games? It doesn’t bother me and some loudmouths in the lobby can add to the fun.
I’ve tried Xbox profile privacy settings and in game settings but cannot unmute mics. Does it now require that I have a mic plugged in to hear others? If so, this is new.
Everyone is always muted forme yet l have never altedthe settings. Lol
