hi all,
looking forward to the release of the new Forza Motorsports!
Now my Question/ Suggestion: I assume telemetry data will be available via UDP; will You make the Package-Specifications publicly available?
thanks!!
I hope so.
I also hope they add some values to the output.
As much telemetry as possible to provide bass shakers and shakeIt motors. All about lap times, speed, input, and also stuff like oil temperature.
I’m running a BMW cluster via SimHub with additional displays, and would love to show all kind of information.
SimHub and several Smartphone Apps can do already a lot with the data from Forza.
But other games put even more data out. For real cool virtual dashboards in Smartphone Apps there could be more values that already get tracked in Forza. Especially race information from the player and maybe also his opponents. I would even like to see some stuff like oil & water temperature and other not so important values.
I’ll try to collect a more detailed list in the next few days.
First off, I want to thank the dev team and the forum team for working hard to improve the game and to allow the community to offer ideas. It is greatly appreciated. In addition, I would like to thank the members who read this post and contributed. Secondly, this is based on the assumption and interpretation of the news and Forza’s monthly streams. I will bring up two things here, Expanding UDP and some sort of FM API
Expanding UDP: Something that would essentially level up the current UDP system. Specifically, if the spectator could have access to everyone’s UDP values, that would be extremely massive for all communities across the board who cast races or have other mediums for content or production. This can increase engagement, in addition to member retention for our communities and the game as a whole. Examples of more data points could be a collision flag, sector flag(s) for a given track (to calculate splits and gaps between players), and some more.
FM API: Another thing that can spawn a lot of cool community projects would be creating a read-only API around FM’s data. This could include rivals’ records, leaderboards, skill/driver rating tables, tunes, user in-game stats, and more. This would be extremely cool as we can develop cool bots, websites, and scripts that can have independent leaderboards across communities. Something I’ve built was an ELO system within the FH5 competitive community, which would have been a lot easier but also more functional if it had more data access from the game.
Thank you again for your time in reading this post, and if you find this relatable, please vote on this post so it has more outreach!
This would be hugely beneficial for the community
indeed.
Can someone tell me how to get data through UDP port?
https://www.simhubdash.com/ or others
+RedlineRPM all the shiftindicator-tools use some “MaxRPM * 0.9” or solutions like that.
Thanks but I was actually asking for some native way like reading data directly from udp port using java or anything else.
Yeah was wondering what u mean but some dev knows how to read from udp
Thanks…that repo helps.
Would be a fantastic addition to the game, we’ve already seen some great features with the very limited access we have now so expanding it could be insanely beneficial for the community.
The Access to UDP especially is something that would be phenomenal for us in the HTCC and I’m sure many of the other Casters and Leagues would agree.
Expanding the UDP via spectate in this way would be fantastic.
It’s alway been frustrating in FM7 because some great Data is available via the ticker. If that day could be fed out and constantly available it would be revolutionary for casters, enhancing commentary. For event organisation it would provide many benefits and increase the flow and speed of organising and sorting large numbers of multi lobbied drivers. Even better if the data could be stored and recorded in a meet up style lobby with drivers entering and leaving as required
Hello, reviving this post
Are the UDP telemetry specifications can be found anywhere ?
Also, all the links I find on GitHub relating to official specs for UDP telemetry on FH5/FM7 are dead. Does an official specification exists for those ?
Thanks a lot
Provide following Telemetry Data using UDP API -
Grid position of all drivers
Player’s relative delta to all drivers
Track Name - (Available on Simhub now)
Car names of all Drivers
Pit count of all Drivers
Tire compound of all Drivers
Weather details/Temperatures
Race Info - Duration/Max Laps
Player Car Tire info -
a. Temperatures - (Available on Simhub now)
b. Pressures
c. Wear - (Available on Simhub now)
Player Car Damage - Optional.
Thanks.
A few more values would be very nice!
Damage % for all parts.
Environment temperature
Track temperature
Environment time
Weather

Hey! I am working on a simple telemetry web application and just got connected using the information posted here: https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/21742934024211-Forza-Motorsport-Data-Out-Documentation
Hope this helps.
Yes! Very needed.
Laps times, sectors laps times, etc
