The 1954 Mercedes Benz 300 SL is one of the most gorgeous cars ever made.
The FORZA car model of 300 SL has always looked funny and it was hard to point out the issue. There are a few fatal flaws that give away the errors and age of the car model after great examination.
In use since the original Motorsport, for anybody who do not understand the inaccuracy with this model, just pay attention to the car’s doors, windows and its front grill. They are the dead giveaways.
Modeling flaws of the 1954 300 SL.
-
The proportions and dimensions of the gullwing windows are inaccurate. They are larger in height and size compared to the glass windows on the C-Pillar.
-
The gull-wing windows are missing the metal trim handle on the top corner of the front piece on both sides that allows the driver to open them. Once again, the window piece in inaccurate in height and width.
-
The beautiful gull-wing doors look funny on the FORZA model - They are smaller in height compared to the IRL car.
You can notice this by observing the distance from the door handle to the bottom edge of the door.
Due to the smaller doors, the distance from the bottom edge of the doors to the side metal trim line is higher than the IRL car - creating this funny look.
-
The length and width of the wheelbase is incorrect. This becomes apparent when observe the first and rear ends.
-
The front windshield is supposed to be taller in height and larger in size when compared to the gull-wing windows.
If you go by order of size, the front and rear windshield glasses are bigger than the side window - and the side windows are bigger than those at the C-Pillars.
- The front grille is inaccurate in shape and size. The FORZA model has a grille with a pout when the top and bottom ends of the grill make it look a fish.
The grille on the actual car has a very gentle shape and curvature, almost like a rounded rectangle. The grille is shorter in height but wider than the erroneous FORZA model.
I will not go into any further details since they are many issue with this one but the inaccurate wheelbase, coupled with strange dimensions and shape of the glass, roof and front grille completely throw of any beauty this car actually has! Such a shame!
