The Mazda lineup of cars in Forza took a considerable hit going from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, with cars such as Mazdaspeed 3 gen1 or the Mazda Protege disappearing into thin air. We also haven’t really seen many brand new Mazdas added since then, with the newest additions being the Cosmo L10B and the MX-5 ND added in… Horizon 2. Mazda doesn’t just make the fan-favourite, sporty, rear-wheel-drive roadsters and coupes, but also tried itself in the luxury car market.
The Mazda Xedos 9, also known as the Millenia or the Eunos 800, is Mazda’s attempt at rivaling brands such as Acura or Infiniti. Produced between 1993 and 2002, it was offered with “K engine” family V6 engines with displacements ranging from 2.0L to 2.5L. Probaby the most intriguing one, though, was the supercharged 2.25L KJ-ZEM V6 running in the Miller Cycle, which employed that supercharger to increase compression efficiency and decrease compression losses.
“Car Throttle” team recently got their hands on an example equipped with the 2.25L V6 engine, which brought the whole car to my attention. I hope that, one day, either Turn10 or Playground Games modeling team manages to get one up for scanning and puts it in Forza, together with its target rivals from the 90s.
