This is how the Matra sounds in-game, and this is how it’s supposed to sound.
In real life, this car makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and it sends shivers down your spine. It’s a high revving V12, but there’s only notes of reverb in what is otherwise a smooth revving engine, and it has a depth to it the entire way up the rev range. In-game, to borrow a quote from a friend, it sounds like the child of a 787B and a Miata. There’s so much more reverb, to the point where it’s better described as chop, it’s off-pitch, and it lacks any feeling of depth to the engine. It’s not a bad interpretation of “late 60’s race engine” if you wanted to avoid licensing fees, but, it’s not a Matra V12, and half of the selling point of a Matra race car is that it comes with one of the best sounding engines in history.
You have proven you can do accurate sounding cars; the Huayra R in FH5 is one of my favourites in the franchise. I don’t think it’s much to ask for the Matra to get the same love.
