Yes I read that however I have no way of knowing if the wheel I’m buying is a version with the update. Also, I’m in Canada and Best Buy and Futureshop don’t sell the TX anymore. I’m not sure where I can even buy a TX up here in Canada.
Thanks. If Thrustmaster would offer the ability to update on a Mac they’d have a customer. Otherwise not going to buy a PC if I get a wheel that doesn’t have the update.
Thanks good to know. Do you know if it had the updated driver already? I’m still leery of buying the Thrustmaster and not being able to update it as I don’t own a PC.
One of my friends got his Mad Catz Wheel yesterday. His to makes that noise from vibration. Which is just sad. He said it goes away when you cut the vibration down to a lower level. To me, that’s stupid. So people who choose or prefer max vibration with that wheel, will have to hear that noise. Like I said, that wheel is junk.
Other than that, he says the wheel is fine & he likes it.
I don’t like the fact that owners of it have to lower a setting not to hear that dumb noise. $400 huh smh lol
Did anyone on this forum get the Mad Catz wheel? Surely someone can chime in with their impression of the wheel. Guess most went with the TX as Mad Catz took forever to release their wheel. Hopefully they don’t have as many problems as the TX.
My pre-order from Amazon is now delayed and I am sure I am not the only one.
This is the third(at least) delay shipping these wheels. I believe they were supposed to come out in January.
I am cancelling my order tonight and waiting on feedback from other users if they can not give me a new ship date within a week.
I hope they are good and made right, but I am tired of waiting.
This video isn’t very useful, however, claims their Mad Catz wheel quit working after only 24 hours. Looking like the reliability is no better than the TX.
Please don’t take this as me playing the role of an apologist or devils advocate, but this is inconclusive.
There are a few racing game videos on their channel, some off-roading and other neat activities, but this video appears with out any explanation or verification. No lead up into if they have the wheel, and nothing showing the wheel in the video. Yeah… They are going to have to do better than that.
Now who’s to say they did not seat the pedal cable fully? The Microsoft WRW use to do the exact same thing if the pedal cable wasn’t properly seated, or if I used a phone cable instead of the cable Microsoft provided. Perhaps the Youtuber should check their connections again, if they have the wheel in the first place.
For the TLDR crowd…
Suspicious video, is suspicious.
Personally, I don’t think he will like it. Especially not better than the TX he has & from what I can tell, never had problems with. He has stated that the TX is his favorite & best wheel out now, Console/PC. I don’t see Mad Catz taking the #1 spot in his opinion.
I’m now on my 3rd TX thrustmaster wheel after the first 2 developed the fault of the USB not being recognised by the console, this one lasted 8 days before the motors decided to burn out. So I had decided to get a refund and get the madcatz version.
I got the madcatz wheel yesterday and after a couple of hours of setting thing up I managed to give it a quick blast late last night. First impressions aren’t good, the force feedback is weak ‘at best’, the wheel itself will not line up centrally and is about 10 degrees out to the right and YES it is very noisy! I’ve emailed madcatz to see if the issues can be resolved my end, but after spending £350 on it I’m not impressed and think it’s going back.
Looks like I’m gonna have to go back to thrustmaster and keep replacing the thing when it enevitably gives up again!
Thank God for that 2 year warranty,i’m on my 3rd wheel also but the last one has the external power brick. To give you an idea how big it is,it is as long and as wide but half as thick as the X1 power brick. This has got to take alot of heat out of the TX!
